I never get tired of watching this video.

I highly recommend watching this if you haven't done so already!

Skip to 6:30 in the video and there's a Bayern Fan being racist.

He says 'Drogba in ein Zoo' which is pretty self explanatory. Surprised nobody officially reported it?

So when it went to the shootout, I was confident. I'd had that DVD of the Bayern penalties for four or five days but hadn't watched it. I'd been kind of lazy, and I'd been convinced the game wouldn't go to penalties like in 2008 against Man Utd. But I'd ended up finding the time on the flight over, and that's when I'd watched it. All the goalkeeping staff watched them – Ross Turnbull, Jamal Blackman, Henrique Hilário and Christophe Lollichon – and the idea was we'd all take notes and discuss them in a meeting. When it came round to it, I asked them: "So guys, the notes?" And Hilário just said: 'Don't worry about it. You'll save everything.'

Haha, what a hero.

Decent summary of last season's Champions League campaign by Phil McNulty from his review of the year:

Chelsea's win in the Champions League ranks among the year's most outstanding achievements, accomplished in adversity, on opposition territory and amid the by-now customary managerial upheaval at Stamford Bridge.

Di Matteo started the season as right-hand man to Andre Villas-Boas then replaced him on an interim basis when the Portuguese was sacked after only nine months in charge. It was early March and Chelsea already trailed 3-1 to Napoli after the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League.

Di Matteo transformed their fortunes, united a discontented squad and gave owner Roman Abramovich the prize he wanted above all others.

Napoli were beaten, as were Benfica, before a towering win over two legs against Barcelona in the semi-final. Didier Drogba's goal secured a narrow first-leg lead and Chelsea survived a Barcelona siege, and the first-half sending-off of captain Terry, to earn a magnificent draw and a place in the final.

The final provided a fitting conclusion to this unlikely story. The odds seemed stacked against Chelsea with Bayern playing on their own ground - but this was the year when destiny looked to be guiding the Londoners over the finishing line.

Thomas Mueller gave Bayern a late lead. It was still not enough and the talisman Drogba equalised with a header two minutes from time and ended Chelsea's quest to win the Champions League with his final kick for the club, the decisive penalty in the shoot-out.

Someone on a forum posted this. I just added a couple of things.

9 Reasons why Chelsea must win this final!

1. On the previous 3 occasions, the team that has managed to beat Barca in the semis has gone on to lift the Cup: Real Madrid (2002), Manchester United (2008) and Inter Milan (2010).

2. The last time Atletico Madrid won the Europa League, Chelsea won a Double and Bayern Munich lost the Champions League final against Inter.

3. The last English team (Manchester United) to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League, went on to lift the trophy and won the competition.

4. An English team (Manchester United) has previously won the FA Cup and gone on to win the Champions League, beating Bayern Munich in the final that lost the DFB Pokal during that season.

5. The last time Manchester City won the league title, an English team (Manchester United) won the European Cup.

6. All Champions League finals played in Munich produced a winner of the competition for the first time in their history (Nottingham Forest, Marseille and Dortmund).

7. The last time Manchester United went trophyless, an English Club won the Champions League (Liverpool) and they didn't finish in the top 4.

8. The Champions League Finale is on 19-05 and Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905

9. And last but not least for Chelsea:

2000: Quarterfinal

2004: Semifinal

2008: Final

2012: ????

Nicely bumped.

Love this video, particularly the moment at 1min58secs where Lampard is mobbed by the crowd, and we're thinking of letting him go?

Absolute Quality and quite emotional.

I thought I'd seen every clip out there, then I found this....

I don't think a day goes by without me mentioning the 19/5/12 in some shape or form!

Champions of Europe!

The only team in London to ever win it!

Wherever you were..... Drogba's goal, Cech's extra time pen save, Cech's shootout stops, Drogba's pen winner, Lamps and JT lifting 'Big ears'.... We all shared those emotions!

Those moments!

'Come along, come along, come along and sing our song......

Hey Munich...

You have just been Droged!

In Greek, nostalgia literally means ‘the pain of an old wound.’ It’s a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone.

Exactly how I feel. Happiest moment of my life, wish I could go back to that moment.
