Who gives a sh*t about liverpool teams of past or present. They are sh*t regardless of who they have in the team because they are liverpool.

Totally agree! Also we shouldn't consider bumping up their transfer kitty again let the rat man rot there and cause loads of grief! He will soon piss off the rest of the team moaning about not playing champs league football!

This season will be his season, you'll see.

You sound like a Liverpool supporter.

We've been saying he'll come good since he signed. He's improved a lot, that's a given. And I think he should stay. But I'm still concerned that we won't sign Rooney or any other striker before the window shuts. Mourinho is a legend but I still won't have confidence that what we have is a title winning forward line.

I think we'll win the league even if we don't sign Rooney, I have faith in Lukaku and I think Torres will have an even better season than last season. Ba is also a good as a 3rd option.

Surprised Atletico weren't even in for him. He must feel like sh*t knowing his boyhood club probably doesn't even rate him anymore.

Probably had something to do with the fact that they know they can't afford anywhere near the £175k a week Torres is on now.

They lost the title because of their high number of draws. Had they won two out of those 11 draws they would have been level with Manure on 90 points & beaten them comfortably on goal difference.

They comfortably scored more than all other teams & only let in a few more than Manure & us.

Not a bad team in fact & not much dross there at all.

So ... they lost the title because they didn't win as many matches as another team did.  Well, there's a novel concept!

Atletico wouldn't be able to afford the transfer fee nor the wages at this point. They only owned something like 35% of Falcao, so its not like they got a significant amount for him in the end.

I remember reading an article a while back saying that because of his transfer fee and his wages, whether we liked it or not, we were ' pretty much stuck with Torres'.

I now hear Liverpool want 50 million for Suarez. I wonder if Arsenal will have the same problem we've had with Torres. It would be quite hilarious given we got enough stick from them about it.

Read in Daily Mail that he's being linked with Valencia as a replacement for Soldado

if anyone cares

Yes, apparently he's worried us getting Rooney could mean no regular football for him here and he wants a World Cup place next season. Understandable. It depends on if we get Rooney, though. If we don't, he'll be our main man upfront once more.

Apparently, Villa has higher wages that Torres, although i doubt wed let torres go for 3m

I think Lukaku will establish himself as our first choice striker

Well I might be reading a little too much into Jose's comment but I though it was a dig at Torres and the fact that Torres won't be his first choice up top

I know it's Jose and the man can do anything, but I'm sick of hearing this really. Manager after manager after manager tries to get him back to his best.

If Rafa Benitez couldn't, who had him banging them in at Liverpool, I would hand Jose a medal if he manages it.

Personally I think it'd be best if we just got rid.
