Nathaniel Chalobah

He went off injured against Poland U21's, he was having a very solid game up until that point, Baker very quiet though.

Thought Baker played well certainly looked better than the majority out there but didn't impose himself enough for me.
He is easily the best passer on that team and he either needs to make himself more available or command the ball more

Yea, good point, I want to see him impose himself more on these games, I think Ward Prowse is a good passer too. Baker has a wicked shot on him, but I think he's only had two shots in three games, one from the spot, I want to see him get in better positions and punish teams.

I think Ward Prowse suffers from a similar problem and whilst technically very good isn't as quick with his decision making as Baker is and therefore misses a lot of passing options.

I also think both would play much better if there were a dynamic midfielder who likes to burst forward either with or without the ball playing along with them in the team and therefore seem to be really missing RLC playing ahead of them.

Chalobah playing behind Baker and Ward Prowse with two wingers or Swift in front doesn't quite have the same balance as when RLC was there and its a shame there isn't really anyone in the squad who can replicate that.

We can't be surprised to see our young talents leaving, they want to play and it's understandable. Last season Chalobah was given few chances in the league which I liked to see and I had hope that we're building a starter here. But it seems like we don't.

His position is available and in my opinion, he can play the role, but we're looking to sign players at his position, so it leaves him behind. Just put yourself in his position now and try to feel it.

It would be good to have him as a backup for Kante and probably Bakayoko and use him as a starter in cup games, I'd call it a chance for him.

I would hope we keep him for next season, out of all the said youth players he looks very capable of delivering.

We need more depth in the midfield area and he would be very ideal.

I told you. If we leave the players we need at the very end will be coming to 10 players.

Conte should have rotate the squad more. There is always going to have unhappy player at the end of the season, but for some players it was too much bench.

I do think Conte should have rotate Batshuay more with Costa. There was matches where Costa was really bad and gives nothing to the team, but he was standing to the end.

Conte should also make some of his subs earlier.

For Chalobah exactly i don`t see how he could get more minutes. Kante was almost perfect the most of the times, while if Conte decide to take Matic off, Fabregas came in. Chalobah probably see this and knowing in the new season he won`t get much time again. He is only 22, of course he will want more regular time and he knows he won`t get it at Chelsea.

If Bakayoko replaces Matic, then Chalobah will remain the 4th choice central midfielder.

With an extra competition and the likelihood that the Gods of football injuries will be less kind to us next season, he will definitely get more game time.

Would be silly to push for a move now, he has a deep connection with the club and has already made the biggest first-team breakthrough since Bertrand. (Not saying much I know).

This could just be his season. But if Matic stays or we sign another midfielder then no one can blame him.

Assuming Matic goes, I see him as potentially the 2nd choice of midfielder in some matches, as we don't always play Cesc due to defensive concerns. Otherwise the third.

If Matic stays or we buy another central defender than I think he should go on loan or be sold.

Five mil plus add ons.... you're f**king kidding me right? Geezer has how many caps for England youth levels? I really like Nate Dawg and would be very disappointed to see him good and that would be for a great price. To me five mil is just insulting.

i don't see how we can get a lot for him. he hasn't shown enough from his appearances to warrant a big fee tbh. it's just the way it is. if we can get close to 10m for him then it's good business. he isn't going to be world class, but he's a good young player. a buyback clause may be worth it, but we can't expect every young player to leave and become the next top english talent. considering the 99% of the young players who have been out on loan have not been that impressive, it's understandable why the board is correct in letting many of them go.

2 major issues:

1. Squad Depth

2. HG quota

Surely we can't afford to allow Chalobah and RLC to both leave this summer, especially with JT having gone?

Even from a homegrown quota standpoint I would think we're looking a bit thin on the ground?

I'm sure the board/conte are aware of this. Does christensen count as homegrown? nobody knows what's happening with baker or loftus-cheek yet, or aina also.

Andreas does count as HG.

Aina is apparently on his way to Hull, and that is one position where I feel we do need an upgrade (RWB). Having Moses and Aina as RWB options is well... underwhelming.

Nat is better than RLC and Baker.

I hope the board/Conte are aware. Its hard to see the solution though by selling the best of our HG talent/Squad depth. I am sure, the board/Jose were aware of the full back situation with Iva in 15/16 but failed on some massive proportions.

Don't blame him if he wants to leave sell him on a buy back let him progress bench warming doesn't develop a player neither does a loan in a weak league, sell him to a perm club buy him back if he comes good

If he goes as well now, i think i'm pretty much done ever hoping anyone will come through.

Even though a certain Danish defender will be in next season's squad?
