Don't know if all of you are aware but there's a real campaign to get Rio Ferdinand back in the England team, instigated by the media, and I'm afraid Gary Cahill's mistake yesterday has only given the campaign more wings.

Hodgson was having to field questions on the subject yesterday after the match, much against his will.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mr Ferdinand employ a racial slur against a fellow footballer recently, and wasn't that fellow footballer a current England international, and wasn't the fact that JT had used a racial slur against a fellow footballer (Mr Ferdinand's brother no less, who'd have guessed) given as the reason he could no longer represent the England national team by the very same media?

Work that one out folks ..

also noticed the rather long extreme close ups of cahills despair and flicking back and forward to Woy.

It was a friendly for god sake. I always cheer on Chelsea players when the play for England but I'm not sure I'd want them to win the world cup simply because the media and the scummy fans who boo some of the players

I hope the media and all the other w*nkers who want Ferdinand back in the England team get their wish. Then I'll sit back and enjoy watching the England side slide even further downhill.

Ferdinand is a cretin of the highest order, he really is as thick as two short planks, ranting on about what's wrong in football and judging other players. Yet conveniently he overlooks the fact that he's a drug cheat who kicked a female steward, kicked a ball as hard as he could into the crowd (of United fans, yes he's that thick) injuring a woman, and got involved in the JT 'racism' row despite not even being in the ground when the alleged incident took place. Add to that, his previous clubs were West Ham and Leeds, need I say more?

Ferdinands time in the England team is up, despite the 1 mistake Cahill made last night i think England looked far better on the ball at the back, Ferdinand would ruin that with his slow pace and long ball crap.

I always support England due to being English (well, half English at least!) - but the media and the fans who boo and abuse players, not just Chelsea players, get exactly what they deserve when we compete in the World Cup and Euro.

The way most of the people in this country act towards the national squad we don't really deserve to win anything.

True. When you compare the support in the Olympics to the support of England football team you realise just how much of a mess the England team is in.

This is just a campaign to make Rio-the-c**t look good. In the end he knew he can't take part but he just wanted a survey to see is he still loved. Manu is a big club with huge fanbase so naturally lot of people were backing him.

This is just the kind of thing that makes him look even a bigger asshole.

Same is with Carraghers rant years back and in general Rafa "it is not my fault" Benitez' rants about basically everything.

anyone spotting how desperate the fa are to prove England fans were not singing racist chants...they're putting in almost as much effort as they did to find Jt guilty...wonder if Fifa will decide England are guilty before holding a kangaroo court etc

On the balance of probabilities they probably were being racist.

£250k fine and the next 4 home matches to be played behind closed doors.

Just imagine if that were to actually happen, can you picture the uproar?

I thought the definition of racial abuse included the words 'with reference to race or colour' -  FA regulation E3(1)'. I don't understand why the FA have not simply come out and said that the alleged chants made no reference to colour or race and could not therefore be considered racist.

I reserve judgement until I see what the joke were.

I have only seen Reggie Hunter on panel shows but I have always found him to be quite funny.

The Pfa are idiots. I mean, just look at hunters names for his tours, what exactly did they expect.

Louis CK is a f**king brilliant comedian. Thanks for the 3 min of laughs DB.

I need to start watching his TV show again... Ok, sorry, back to the original topic.

Awesome... Just awesome. I think Louis CK will be on tap for listening during work tomorrow.

Ok, ok. Truly, now back on topic. Continue on.
