Would be fine with Lukaku but if we had to I would rather we went after Higuain or Jovetic. Partly because they are good strikers but also it stops them from going to our rivals, Arsenal have been in contact with them.

Ibra. He's a title winning player, like RVP for United, and apparently he has great respect for Mourinho. 

Jose has his next hidden gem lined up, like Drogba was.

Higuain - Jose did not want to start him at Real so why would he want him with us IF we get Jose?
Benzema - See who Real buy but their Director in charge of buying was quoted as saying he would stay while Higuain would be the one to go.
Rooney - Yes...erm...maybe will go but I really doubt United would sell to us.
Gomez - A decent shout if Bayern get Lewy, depending on the asking price.
Jovetic - A very good player and option but have to wonder if he would be best as a second striker.
Yilmaz - Doubt we would get him for a decent price but again for a huge sum we could probably get him.

 

Out of that list I would say Gomez or Jovetic is the best bet.

Fair point Jack but would expect Jose to kick up a stink if he gets players picked for him and none of the ones he would want.

Ibra is by a long distance the best striker on that list, followed by Gomez, but I think Lukaku has the potential to be as good as any of them.

Gomez should be avalable but his pace is not enough for Prem I'm afraid. Why would Heynckes buy Mandzukic after such a great season from Gomez and replace him immediately?They went from great to brilliant with the purchase of Martinez and Mandzukic.

He can do both and would score especially with Mazicar behind him.He is like a Suarez type player not a number 9 or 10 but a mix of both like RVP.

Well there is no point in trying to lower their price but, to be fair, Porto pretty much tell most clubs "this is the price for the player, pay it or p*ss off".

I don't understand this Jovetic fascination... I know so many people who rate him highly after hardly watching him play. I can understand if someone wants to buy him as a second striker or part of a front three but as main striker? He's hardly prolific and has never been. We surely need someone else. Even Oscar will score as much as Jovetic if he plays up front.

yeah, jovetic may have more to his game than lukaku, but as far as their ability as a CF goes, theres not much of a difference

 

ive noticed a lot of arse fans getting giddy at the thought of him at arsenal, but hes just a  slightly better version of podolski

He is potentially world class and amongst the best players in Serie A, so whoever gets him, their respective fans will have good grounds on being giddy.
