I'm optimistic about this signing. Regardless of what happens, the club are definitely going in the right direction in terms of types of signings.

I must admit to being a bit naive about this boy, is he really that good? 

If he comes even close to Bergkamps level we have a gem in our hands. Always loved Bergkamp although he was a gunner. Brilliant player with brilliant football-brain.

Bergkamps goal against Newcastle is probably my favorite individual premier league goal. Such a skillfull player.

How can a player be the next Bergkamp, the next Ballack, the next Lampard and the next Gerrard?

 

I suppose if he turns out to be like any of them we've done well.

I would like us to have the next Makalele but would certainly not object to the next Bergkamp. However Bergkamp was never a midefielder in my mind. Certainly a great footballer no matter who he played for even if less of a success in Italy.

No, Bergkamp was obviously not a midfielder but Van Ginkel's style closely compares to Lampard or Ballack, though which heights he will reach remains to be seen.

He was that yes but he was a very big factor Netherlands made the final against Spain a few years back. So a c**t or not he knew how to play football.

 

But I don't see any resemblance between these two just thought there might be a void in the dutch national team that this lad can fill.
