January 10, 201412 yr On a second thought, is it just me or does someone else believe that any thread that primarily is about Mikel, has the tendency to bring out the worst in forum members? Apart from the Torres' thread, Mikel's threads always contains unnecessary arguments and counter arguments. Seriously, some people need to take some chill pills.
January 11, 201412 yr talkoftownsend I think you are being annoying and need to have a hard look at yourself. C'mon mate, take a walk down the street, head to the pub and take a pint. Cool your nerves and stop these arguments. And am being respectful, you can reply me with all ridiculous words but am out. Ciao. Au revoir! well, i would point out that "stopping these arguments" is a request that could be directed at many on this thread...most notably the guy who came with literally no other motive than to have an argument and have the last word in that argument, even though the argument had nothing to do with football in any way whatsoever (i really have no idea what that guy's problem with me is tbh as this is not the first time he has done this). you can say what you want about me, but i have no personal animosity toward anyone here, or anyone on the internet. if people wish to dredge up every old argument or ill feeling they have ever had every time i post; taking personal shots rather than discussing the topic at hand; that speaks volumes about the type of person they are. as for why you would bump this thread just to reignite said argument...well...if that is what you call "respectful" then ok. i doubt many would thank you but i look forward to getting blamed for replying to you and the subsequent abuse that will surely follow. On a second thought, is it just me or does someone else believe that any thread that primarily is about Mikel, has the tendency to bring out the worst in forum members? Apart from the Torres' thread, Mikel's threads always contains unnecessary arguments and counter arguments. Seriously, some people need to take some chill pills. "arguments and counter arguments" are fine. forums should be about back and forth, debating and so on. i would define would i have been doing as putting forward arguments in the whole, expressing my opinions and some of the rationale behind them; however, although i don't go away out my way to make personal comments (in fact, i joined this forum to debate football not to get caught up in petty off-topic squabbles), i don't see why i should be particularly pleasant in tone when the "counter-arguments" have been of this type: Absolute bollocks. More absolute bollocks. What an arsehole you are Absolutely. Boring jerk. I've had that townsend prick on ignore for ages - now you clowns start quoting his inane ranting all over the place - fair made me throw up my afternoon biscuits it has. my replies have actually been far less unpleasant than any of that, in fact, i have generally tried to steer the conversation back to football and the discussion at hand. when even the guy who came here with literally no other motivation than to slag me off admits that my initial opinion was reasonable, those responses seem disproportionate and likely stem from prior bad feeling rather than anything i have said here. i do not follow members around just to make personal comments of this type...perhaps the members who have done so to me are the ones who should take "chill pills" and need to "look at themselves".
January 11, 201412 yr Could you all stop this childish and repetitive behaviour now so we can get this thread back on topic?
January 11, 201412 yr Back on topic, they just showed a picture of a Chelsea fan who said he would get a Mikel tattoo on his arse if Monel scored. Fair play he went through with it and got "John Obi Mikel" tattooed on him. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/chelsea-fan-has-the-words-john-obi-mikel-tattooed-on-his-bum-following-the-nigerian-midfielders-fa-cup-goal-against-derby-9044334.html
January 11, 201412 yr I believe a lot of good players would like a collection of trophies Mikel has for just being limited, more power to his elbow.
January 11, 201412 yr I believe a lot of good players would like a collection of trophies Mikel has for just being limited, more power to his elbow. and i believe that a lot of good players would be able to hold down a regular starting spot in our midfield, especially given the competition (or lack thereof) we have in that area.
January 11, 201412 yr The sexual tension in this thread is unbearableIll be honest, ive had a semi on the whole time.
January 11, 201412 yr and i believe that a lot of good players would be able to hold down a regular starting spot in our midfield, especially given the competition (or lack thereof) we have in that area. Ever thought about discussing other aspects of the team on the forum rather than camping out in Mikel related threads talking down our players? It comes across like you have an agenda when you're continuously talking down at the same player all the time. Any who, attempting to veer the thread back on topic, I think Mikel will start against United at home. Although Luiz is more energetic he showed today that he can be impatient in possession and loses the ball a fair bit, against United retaining possession will be important and so I think Mikel will get the nod.

January 12, 201412 yr "to" not "too". kinda helps if you don't make little f*ck-ups like that when you are criticising someones writing. *someone's

January 14, 201412 yr Jose is trying to sell Mata so Mikel can take his place as our rightful goalscoring #10
January 14, 201412 yr Jose is trying to sell Mata so Mikel can take his place as our rightful goalscoring #10
January 14, 201412 yr Serious question. If all of this Matic stuff pans out. Where does that leave Mikel? (assuming he doesn't replace Oscar as goalscoring #10) I'm thinking we won't be hiring Matic for big money to sit him on the bench. So that leaves us JOM as 4th in the pecking order behind Ramires, Matic and Lampard.
January 14, 201412 yr Lamps was only there because we had such little options. Mikel and Matic would share / battle for the role, presumably. Mikel will still play regularly I think, rotated in for certain games etc. Lets see (if Matic comes), how he copes in the role first and foremost.
January 14, 201412 yr Mikel will be side-lined, that's for sure. A squad player, like Essien, who is leaving at the end of the season anyway. Will we start Matic against United?

I dont see anything Mikel is better than Matic at, so i imagine Matics only real competition will be Lamps since Mourinho still rates him very highly Will we start Matic against United? I think Jose puts a lot of emphasis on match preparation, and its highly unlikely Matic will play, considering he will have at best 4 days of practice before sunday Edited January 14, 201412 yr by Lane
