Looks like what we'd hoped McEachran would turn out to be. A Carrick sort of player, but more aggressive and mobile.

Its a win win, if he isn't right to play on Sunday Mikel will have to play a blinder or he knows he'll be benched from then on.

Not sure why people think he's going to be thrown straight in on Sunday. Doesn't really seem like mourinhos style to put a new player in the team for such a big game.

I would be surprised if he did start on Sunday. IF he does sign today, it doesnt leave him much time to train with the team before the game. I would bet he will be on the bench.

If you take pride out of the equation, this does look like a good signing, he should settle much quicker than a player who hasn't been in the PL, let alone Chelsea before.

 

I couldn't care less about the 'pride' thing, we've been crying out for a fresh deep-lying midfielder for far too long. The fact that he's coming 'home', so to speak, is a positive for me as he should settle in quickly and be able to contribute straight away.

 

I'll be disappointed to see De Bruyne go, however. Not that we need him, I just wanted to see him do well and be part of a Belgian attacking triumvirate with Rom and Eden.
