Surely it can't be hard to get some journo down to Cobham to actually confirm if Matic is there or has been there. Isn't it their job to keep up with these things ?

if we have to have a  January transfer then there is a big advantage to someone like Matic. He will know most of the chelsea players and the system already, as well as the staff, and they will know him.

 

This will make it much easier to integrate him into the team from the beginning.

 

Clearly its a positition that was a potential weakness. Having said that it does make me wonder where Luiz is going to play. I've heard a bit about Matic's running but what's his passing like?

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Luiz / Matic in DM now-and-then.

 

Or, dare-I-say-it  Luiz / Ramires / Matic 

I would imagine a return to 4-3-3 would see it being Matic, Ramires and Oscar. I doubt Jose would push him out on to the wide positions on a regular basis.

Indeed, too good to be a back up. Can see a player like Piazon or Atsu taking his place in the squad and us allowing him to go to PSG.

One injury and mata starts every game. As happened with oscar out. We need a good squad. Just schurrle and moses wouldn't be unbelievable
