Mohamed Salah to Chelsea

I dunno why people are going over him.

He has hardly played any games this season? I think 2 or maybe 3? Not even a full game.

What you'd expect of him? I think if he'll get a proper run in he'll get better and better. He's just 22 and his raw pace and dribbling is quite good.

He has the ability to run past defender, with Cesc's vision I think he can be beneficial for us in long run in.

But yeah he's too raw at the moment we should have probably loaned him instead of Moses this season.... which would have benefited us by having 1 more homegrown player.

We should try to loan him in January and let's see what he can do when he gets a proper run in. Rather than judging him by 1 match. I think he can be a good player for us just needs to improve his finishing and passing.

Agreed, he's not had a chance to play regularly so why do people expect him to just do it in a one off appearance? I feel bad for him

I expect him to look half decent, its almost like his legs are too quick for his brain.

Should of kept Moses instead of Salah

Salah is never going to be good enough

The 'one-off' excuses doesn't work either, aside from his goals last season his general play looked very poor...basic fundamental stuff that would have very little relation to his game time..bad first touch, bad decision making and awfully 1 footed. Extremely quick...but there's no point in that if you can't even control the ball.

If he actually made a decent cameo for once maybe you could describe certain appearance as just an off-day, but every single time he's played whether starting or coming off the bench he's looked atrocious

We have other players who are awfully one footed. I hate one footed players in general. It's not hard to see how much it'll improve their game and yet they don't do it.

Fortunately for those other 1 footed players, their good foot is genuinely pretty bloody good...as for Salah...not so much

Should have got rid of both Moses and Salah, and given his minutes to a youth player.

How is a player supposed to find any sort of consistency when they play the odd cup game?

Evening Standard reporting we are willing to let him go in January. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-flop-mohamed-salah-will-be-allowed-to-leave-in-january-9860522.html

Jose said at the time of signing it was a rush transfer, sadly it shows, a move would be good for all concerned.

Salah out, Bale in? I could live with that.

In all seriousness though I can't say that I would be particularly bothered if he were to leave.

I know it sounds harsh but we're coming up to a year that he has been at the club and I don't think he has had one good game for us yet.

Starting to look like we overspent by paying £11m to get him but it felt a bit stop gap at the time as he was signed as a "replacement" to Mata.

Quite honestly I haven't seen anything from him that I don't think someone like Thorgan Hazard could do.

It is looking increasingly like one of those “He did well against us and another English team want him so we should just give him a go” signings. It’s coming up to a year since he arrived and the Arsenal sub appearance/goal apart he hasn’t shown anything that would merit an £11 million player. These kind of signings (Marin, Moses ect) are strange in that we know before they arrive that they probably won’t amount to anything.

However Bobby makes a valid point in that how can any player get any consistency or rhythm going if they only get the odd cup game here and there while they struggle to make it off the bench in the other games.

Maybe he should try the Bundesliga? Swiss Super League players tend to do well there (Shaqiri, Sommer, Rakitic etc.) so maybe it wouldn't be such a bad move.

Rushed transfer is an understatement. I never rated him and even though he performed well for Basel against us last season I didn't think it justified signing him.

Overrated player to say the least, especially amongst his country Egypt.

In my opinion we have better players out on loan than him T.Hazard, Piazon and even better players in our under 21's Musonda and especially Boga. He showed glimpses of good play with us last season but his shooting was generally awful.

I guess I'm more sympathetic than most in that I wouldn't want us to give up on Salah yet. He's probably our fastest player, his link up play is decent at times. I won't defend his shooting though, that's been abysmal. What's clear to me is that he needs a lot of development, his overall game is very raw. I'd send him on loan either to the Bundesliga or a midtable PL club and see how he does.

I'd rather we had someone homegrown like Baker or Boga as the 5th AM seeing as whoever it is will only play in the cups unless we suffer a raft of injuries in those positions. Seems like a bit of a waste to not have a homegrown player there.

Chelsea are keen to loan out winger Mo Salah to a Premier League club in January.

Boss Jose Mourinho has indicated he wants Salah, who has not started a League match this season, to gain first-team experience in England.

There has been in interest from abroad in signing the Egyptian international on a permanent deal or on loan.

But Mourinho still believes the player, signed from Basel for £11million last January, could have a long-term future at Chelsea, so he hopes the 22-year-old can be tested out in the English game.

Everton, who want to sign a left-sided midfielder in January, would be keen but they currently have Christian Atsu on loan from Stamford Bridge and are not allowed to borrow two players from the same Premier League club.

The Ghanaian’s loan is likely to be cut short in January, which would allow Salah to move to Goodison, but Chelsea may look elsewhere as they are unhappy at Atsu’s lack of football under Roberto Martinez.

Sunderland, QPR and Stoke could all now enter the race to loan Salah – who will not be away at the Africa Cup of Nations in the new year because Egypt failed to qualify.

Only reason I can see us letting him out on loan is because there is someone else we want to bring in and the easiest way to free up a foreign place in the squad is to send someone like Salah, who isn't playing well and isn't playing much, on loan.

I think we genuinely just want to let him get minutes under his belt. He's not getting anything at the moment and with the CL group games out of the way that probably won't change much.

That may be the case but one injury or suspension to one of Hazard, Schurrle, Willian or Oscar and you're not left with much cover, over Remy can then play out of position on one of the wings.

I don't see us weakening our squad depth in the New Year, as I say I only see Salah going out on loan if someone is coming in.... Even if, for arguments sake, it's someone like Moses returning from loan.

Burnley would play him

I know you are joking but honestly he wouldn't get into the starting XI of any of the current top ten teams.

Right now it's looking like we massively overpaid for him and we either cut our losses on him or somehow try to develop him into a halfway competent player.
