Im not quite sure tbh, although he is a decent prospect I felt he was being overrated because we were so desperate to see Cahill dropped. I still felt his positioning especially was suspect.

Although having said that, him and JT were forming a solid partnership under Guus so that Injury was awful timing.

Valencia are putting together a proposal to tempt Zouma to join them at the Mestalla...think Kurt wants to stay and fight for his place here but maybe a loan might be a good compromise?

Hope the Valencia link is a loan and not a perm deal. Needs a season of first team football before we sell him, he's barely had any games since his injury and it's hard to say whether it's impacted him long term. 

Apparently Palace were looking to take him on loan but baulked at the fee and his wages before deciding to take RLC on loan instead. 

I think he needs a year on loan to play regularly to regain fitness and sharpness following his injury... A Premier League loan would be good but somewhere like Valencia could be decent for him too. 

Real shame he got injured when he did, put his progress back significantly. A loan will do him good as he won't be first choice here it seems. I still feel he has huge potential though.

5 very good CBs (Luiz, GC, Azpi, Rudiger, Andreas) along with Moses and Danilo  as RWB and Alonso and Baba as LWB is 9 players for 5 positons. I feel more than good happy about it.

Its the CMs and FWDs that we should be worried about.

    I'm happy that we don't give up on him, a PL loan for him is a good move. I also happy it's Stoke, he's surely going to play as a starter there, a big chance for him to gain his form back. That injury definitely hurt him, but I believe in that big guy, wish him the best of luck and hope to see him coming back stronger!

    If it's going to happen, i don't think it will happen with us under Conte. With the formation and style of football we play, i don't see Zouma ever fitting in.

    Glad to hear he's signed a new deal and will be good to see him getting football. However it seems to me Conte doesn't fancy him as part of any of 'his' sides. If so he'd be sending him to a side who play a similar formation and like to play 'football'. Zouma already has the physical attributes but the reason he doesn't work in this side is he isn't good enough on the ball. Unlikely to see that side of his game improve at Stoke but hopefully I'm wrong!

    Well if I was a better man i'd wager that Zouma's association with Chelsea will last longer than Conte's will.

    I agree with your point though but that's why sucj a long term contract is a great idea and if he has 2-3 years on loan then so be it.

    Crazy to think that prior to his injury, he had knocked Cahill out of the starting 11 and first choice next to JT. 

    Now, he's off to Stoke on loan.

    I've noticed that Stoke were playing with 3 defenders, and Zouma took part in all of the games. Started them as well. 

    If Stoke will continue to play with this formation and will be using Zouma, he will have to impress and back to his best form. It would be a big chance for him to earn his spot back, especially when we play with 3 defenders. 

    I really hope to see him starting for us next season!
