It's amazing the quality of CBs we have that the likes of Andreas and Zouma has issues breaking into the first team

Saw first half of Stoke United match and Zouma was excellent.

Think we should move Cahill on next season and replace him with zouma.

It looks like Rudiger is Cahill's replacement, since he's been playing on that LCB.

Assuming Christensen is seen as the CB replacement for Luiz, then that only leaves Dave's RCB spot for Zouma.

We could see Moses moved on and Dave/Zappacosta as the RWB, moving Zouma into the centre, but it's too soon to say how it'll all turn out really.

That's insane considering we signed Kurt for £12m. This is where Marina actually truly excels. Player sales/loans.

I think it includes his wages. Can't see it actually being 7mil + wages (10mil). 

If they can afford that amount on a player for a year, why not buy him for 30mil for a 5 year deal which would cost them the same. Looks weird

Looks like Zouma wants back. His year 2017 was tp be happy with Chelsea and serious with Stoke[emoji3]

If Conte stays, then there is no chance. Zouma isn't the type of defender that suits Conte's style. Under a different manager, there could be a chance for him. But it's not like he has been brilliant for Stoke.

He's a nice lad but isn't half as good as made out and he have a superior version of him in Rudi, i would personally sell.

Common ask any Stoke fan & he has been their only shining light. Bar Shaqiri, Butland, Chupo-Motaing, Allen & Shawcross, everyone else is mediocre.

Considering we might losing Cahill & Luiz in the next season or 2, it will be crazy to sell him when you factor in the price of a replacement.

By their standards he is doing ok, but from what i have seen, he has been between ok and poor.

I disagree. Bar pass completion where he trumps Zouma, Rudiger makes less tackles, interceptions, clearances and blocks. Zouma commits less fouls per game. Fan tend to forget how immense he was before his injury.

He's bound to make less tackles and blocks, etc... teams will attack Stoke more than us.

He has all the physical attributes to be a top centre back just lacks the technical side of the game.

Zouma's tackles and blocks are often making up for piss poor positioning and awareness. And i don't think he was particularly great before his injury either, in my opinion the desperation to see Cahill dropped led people to exaggerate. 

He's still young, he's got a long contract, i wouldn't sell in the summer. Maybe another loan to try and raise his price tag at the very least. 

I think he was great before his injury, it's easy to forget he had a difficult task trying to cover for an aging ivanovic. 

I think he still could have a future here if we go to a back 4.

Well that might not be the case for much longer at this rate 

 

All joking aside, I hope he does still have a future here. He comes across as a really nice lad and he was terrific before his injury in my opinion. I’ve not seen much of him at Stoke admittedly but from what I’ve read he’s been one of their best players. Granted, they’ve been rank this year but I still feel he can have a part to play, at least in a squad rotation/backup capacity.

Here's another way of looking at things. If he wasn't already our player, would anybody be saying we should go and sign Kurt Zouma from Stoke, a team that are 17th in the table and have conceded more goals than any other team in the league? I don't think anybody would even contemplate it.

Good physical solid ball winner, but not the best technically. I don't see how he fits in here.

We have seen how good he can be. A defender can look good/poor based on a lot of things. GC did not look great in bolton and i remember the hue and cry then.

If Luiz is a goner (as it seems to be), I would definitely have Zouma as my 5th choice CB, specially with GC coming towards the end too. No point in buying a 30/40mil defender specially when we need that money to buy world class players for wingers/forwards.

PS - If conte is not going to be here next year, and we are going to shift to a back 4, I would say zouma should definitely stay.
