This, or something similar to this, I feel needs to happen to signal our intent in the market and to show we are still a big player when it comes to transfers.

 

You may say signing Cesc did this already, but as talented as he can be Barca wanted to sell him, they wanted the cash for Ratikic and later for Saurez. 

 

You may say signing Costa did this but all we did there was pay a buyout clause which left Atletico with little to no choice.

 

In Pogba though we would have one of the most highly sort after players in European football. So signing him, or someone with a similar status, would show we can take a player that United, City, Barca and Real would love to have and we can bring him to Chelsea.

 

It would be a real signal of intent. So as silly and unlikely as there rumours are, I hope there is a shred of truth in them somewhere.

For me it would be

Costa

Hazard, Fabregas, Schurrle / Oscar

Pogba, Matic

Luis, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta

Courtois

Man, that team is just beautiful on paper. There was another thread a while ago asking for your ideal starting 11 and the only change I had was Cole instead of Luis and Reus instead of Fab.

Not that this is any indicator but before Cesc signed he was in London but that was only to film a commercial and do some shopping. Yet we later learn he had talks with us at the same time.

There's about eight different ones all from today with random strangers, I think its safe to say he is in London, doesn't necessarily mean for footballing reasons.

That said a couple of places on Twitter are now claiming we've submitted a formall bid.

It was, two years ago. Just as signing Ronaldo was for Real yet they still went and did it again with Bale.

Lukaku, most likely. Have suggested Ramires myself before but have been convinced by my fellow blues that he is more of a Jose favourite so unlikely to be allowed to leave.

The way I see it is that buying pogba without selling a 20m+ player won't happen. Losing a good player and getting a great player would be good news in my book.

We could easily get £50m for Lukaku and Ramires imo, who could be part of an exchange deal. It's not inconceivable that our attack next season consists of Costa, Torres and Ba.

With pogba, cesc and matic in midfield, schurrle and hazard as forwards, our team would be immense. The only concern with this is that we are relying an awful lot on costa hitting the ground running. If not we're left with the same strikers as last year and the same problem.

Can't believe fans would entertain the idea of selling Lukaku, we will be crazy to go into the season with Costa, Ba & Torres.
