no, matic was an AM at kosice, before he came to chelsea. also played as an AM for u-21s at chelsea and for the NT (he even played wide there). it was jorge jesus who converted him into a DM

I would be far more disappointed in missing out on Koke than I would be Pogba.

Doubt it.

PSG have far too many quality central midfielders as it is with a few really promising ones pushing for a place.

It makes no sense either for PSG or Pogba tbh. Pogba will go to a far stronger league than the French one for sure while PSG are already struggling to balance the books after FFP penalties which will surely be more severe if the decide to spend 40+million on Pogba.

Koke is a strange one, would he be the replacement for Toure who is coming to the end of his prime days? If we did g for him who would he replace in our starting 11?

For City he probably would replace Toure seeing as they quite a few wide players already but I wouldn't be surprised to see him to a Milner and play all over, albeit to a much, much higher standard. 

 

For us, he would easily make the right wing his own. Could replace Oscar in the middle and move Oscar out right, he has the same workrate as Oscar so you won't lose anything from making that change. Could even put him further back next to Matic, he's a very good defensively and a good tackler. Also recall seeing him playing a defensive midfielder role last season, he would be better than sticking Zouma there again.

 

All this is meaningless though cause it wasn't that long ago, back in January I think, that he said he didn't want to leave Atletico Madrid.

Might be tempted if Simeone leaves but then that's could be to City which would be a problem.

Maybe seeing the likes of Costa, Luis and Courtios leave and at Chelsea may persuade him that we are a good choice.

I'm not sure who would make way for him unless we drop Oscar, can't see us not playing Cesc or Matic as they are so important to the way we play or try to play at least. If Oscar was to be sacrificed then Koke could play deeper and Cesc higher up or vice versa . The competition might see Oscars form improve which would be beneficial to us as just now there doesn't seem to be that much competition ( Cuardrado seems to be fighting Willian for the only attacking midfield role that seems to be up for grabs).

I wonder what Atletico would be looking to get for Koke? I'd imagine the same kind of money as it took to get Costa which would be high but then again lower than it would be to get Pogba.

Salah appears to be raising his price, so considering he doesn't have a buy out clause on the end of his loan, then I think he will go for over 20 million. He is doing just as good as Cuadrado was doing.

 

Petr Cech I also think will go over 20 million, Mourinho said he will not be cheap. So if we are to make 50 million from those two players in the summer, and with our new sponsor, we should be able to go out and spend 100 million in the summer is that correct?

 

If so I think we should definitely for once actually piss City off in the transfer market and nab Koke, I do not want him ending up at City he is an exceptional player, he would fit so well in this side.

There are 6 clubs that want him including Real Madrid. It will be difficult to sign him but what do you think what are chances he will end up playing for Chelsea.

He won't end up in Chelsea. I really want him, but I'm pretty sure he is going to Real Madrid or staying at Juventus.

I am all for selling Oscar and Ramires for Pogba. I think he would be a gem to have in a Mourinho side.

Big news for Chelsea. Just been informed Bruce Buck meeting Mino Raiola this afternoon to discuss summer transfer of Pogba.

While I agree with you Scott. It annoys me seeing people write off us signing certain players, probably the same people who said we'd never sign Cesc. We are one of the top teams in world football. I have no doubt if the board set their mind to it, we could sign anyone.

Absolutely, Greg.  Not trying to go full Arsenal here, but our balance sheets are pretty good, and we've not really dipped into any coffers in the past couple windows.  SO, I'm sure with the Yokohama deal, and being a little flush with cash, I could fully expect us to sign someone monumental this summer.  I think we'll also strengthen in certain areas but that will be funded like recent transfers by selling first

Seems like Mourinho has faith in Loftus-Cheek.. I'd still love us to sign Pogba but why would Mourinho spend the money if he has faith in players already in the squad?
