Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

So after this Cech's sale I think it has proved it that every player Mourinho says isn't for sale is as good as goner.

So Cuadrado/Oscar next maybe. I hope we try to bait Juventus with any one of em for Pogba.

When did he say he was wasn't for sale?

José said he didn't want to sell Cech, not that he wasn't for sale.

That would mean we value Pogba at 80 mil, at least. I doubt there is any truth to this.

That would be 50 million euros though, which is like 35£ million at the moment. So if we value Oscar at 30£ million which would be a good price then its not that bad.

report that Jose Mourinho has already spoken with Pogba over the phone to express his interest but has yet to talk to his club. The potential deal would see Oscar and Cuadrado leave the club to make space for Pogba  :laugh2:

Source or it didn't happen :p.

think there's a snowball's chance in hell of us signing pogba. Have to be honest I'm a bit worried about the fact we haven't really been significantly linked with anyone yet bar falcao, who I do not rate one bit

I think we are severely underestimating the potential of Oscar

Pogba is a fantastic talent but I see Oscar offering more to Juve than whatever Pogba can offer us

Thing is, should we really still be talking about potential. This will be Oscar's 4th season with us and he will be 24 come the start of the season. Now I know that is still young and he is still developing as a player but we should be seeing a continual progression whereas in fact with Oscar, if anything, I feel he has gone backwards.

Players will go through ups and downs with dips in form but the real top players, are always constantly improving - Hazard being a prime example. I just don't see that with Oscar.

I don't think Oscar will improve enough to warrant a starting place here so I'd be tempted.

We have Willian and Cesc who can play the no 10 role.

I doubt this has any truth in it though, not this season anyway.

I believe we are very harsh on Oscar- yes he has not developed as well as we would have hoped but The EPL is very demanding of players and stringing together consistent performances across a full year is very difficult for most players.

The one thing which drops Oscars value is that he plays well up until Christmas where he absolutely hits a brick wall whereas other players (Coutinho) who go missing for the first half and have a decent 2nd half are shown as superior which I believe is unfair.

I'd love Oscar to stay! He is an excellent player on his day BUT the fact is Cesc is better and as Jose is not trying him alongside Matic we have a bit part role for him. Okay a bigger than bit part but a second fiddle.

IF we want to improve the squad, which we do, Pogba would do just that IMHO.

I think people are forgetting that at the start of the season when we appeared invincible Oscar was our No.10 and one of the main contributors to that early success.

Oscar requires some rotation because at his best I would prefer him over Cesc in the No.10 role

Fab can't go a whole season and neither can Oscar, particularly if we go deep in the champs league. We need both and more. Pogba would of course be great.

There are so few lickings for CFCs this season that I think it's either going to be big or a donut. Let's hope still waters run deep.

At this point there is no way we would get £30m for Oscar unless it's PSG ;)

I think Jose will keep him for another season, he also also Juventus boss believe that he can be as good as Hazard.

Yes he's still very young but I don't see any good progression so I'm not sure if another season with Jose will do anything. Maybe he needs change, diferent manager and diferent team. Sort of like Salah, he was rubbish for Chelsea but he's excellent for Florentina.

Plus, Oscar has actually shown he can be an excellent and integral part of our starting 11. He makes a massive difference when he's playing well, as evidenced by the first half of last season. His problem is his inability to consistently play at a high level and that could be down to the amount of football he's been playing and the style in which he plays (his incessant pressing is crucial for us), or perhaps that's just who he is or will be for the foreseeable future. We don't really know, but hopefully we'll get a chance to find out because there'll be no excuses for him next season.
