Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Oscar is young and we already have a better player in his position in Cesc. Jose is clearly not going to use Oscar alongside Matic so to me he is surplus if any player is who we have. Pogba would clearly make us stronger.

That is very debatable. We have performed much more effectively as a unit with Oscar in the starting XI.

Cesc is better in no 10 role IMO. He is not as good as defender as Oscar which for me is weird Jose doesn't try him alongside Matic. But that of course depends on who we are facing. My point is Pogba would be much more natural player for that spot with Matic than Cesc. Oscar doesn't have a natural place in the system IMO and if Pogba comes he is the one who is left on the bench.

Oscar is not actually great defensively. He just has great work rate and decent positional awareness. But not good enough for the midfield role. With Cesc it's not much better..or worse.. but he dictates the game wonderfully from deeper areas.

It will probably be one of Jose's tougher decisions. If Pogba comes, he plays. Pogba alongside Matic is a well balanced combination. When Cesc played in Oscar's position last season, there was a disconnect because you either had two defensive mids behind him or just Matic and a poor passer. But the loss of intensity and pressing was a bigger problem (for me). Jose on the other hand may be less concerned with the way we play and purely pick based on the numbers i.e. Cesc>Oscar.

Personally I think Oscar's mindset is perfect for a CM. From what I've seen he likes to tackle, track back and control play. He played pretty well as a CM for Brazil in that WC pre-tournament. He can run all day long as he is lightweight as well. For me he is made for that spot. Jose probably knows better so I'm not questioning him but I'd really like to see him there.

Think he could get bullied by the absolute top central midfielders.

We've got workrate in the middle of the park, it's called Ramires. Why waste Oscar there when we've got other options. José clearly rates Oscar very highly

Ramires is all workrate yes but his passing and vision is not on the level it needs to be.

Fabregas was poor for us pretty much everytime he played in the number 10 role last season. He said it himself that he prefers to play deeper because he feels more comfortable there. I do think that CM needs to be stronger though. Maybe the tactics needs to be changed a bit to keep getting the best out of Fabregas. I think the 4-3-3 formation would be great for us.

Ramires has completely dipped in the last 2 seasons. I never rated him all that highly but he had some very good games for us, we don't even see that anymore though.

        Pogba-----Matic

            Fabregas

                 ---

  Griezmann---Hazard

              Costa

Tell me that won't win the CL.

6 players wouldn't win the champions league lol. Its a good midfield and attack that's for sure

I think Pogba will move this summer, but its up to whoever pays the most monopoly money. I cant see us spending stupid money on him.

The Juventus boss said he'd find it hard to turn down a big offer, so it looks like he will be moving on.

I wouldn't mind a straight swap between Oscar and Pogba- Oscar will no doubt flourish in a less physical league such as Serie A and Pogba will be more suitable to the physicality of the English league

Would not offer Oscar + cash regardless of amount

City will get him as they will pay the money we won't. I don't think he's worth £60mil as he's more of a luxury for our squad then the missing piece we need as Matic/Cesc was. Long term City need a player to replace Toure and Pogba could be it.

I always get confused when Chelsea fans talk about Oscar. One minute he is a future world class player and an integral part of the team, the next people are moaning about him, saying he's not good enough.

The truth is probably in the middle, but for what it is worth a Oscar + 30m for Pogba is by no means a bad deal and I would take that. A midfield three of Pogba, Matic and Fabregas is up there with anyone in the world. It would arguably be the best in the world.

Prob be a Barca or Madrid mega bucks deal to appease the fans as it seems one superstar needs to come in during the summer window...more so Real.

I think Barca won't sign him during this transfer window due to FFP rules unless they want to pay penalty.

They can sign him in January.

I think he will stay another season in Juventus. He likes it there and they don't have to sell him. They have some major money to spend now.

So after this Cech's sale I think it has proved it that every player Mourinho says isn't for sale is as good as goner.

So Cuadrado/Oscar next maybe. I hope we try to bait Juventus with any one of em for Pogba.

Apparently United got Schneiderlin for something like 21m. I genuinely hope we have something great up our sleeve, like Pogba, or at least Vidal because otherwise I'm not sure what our strategy is.
