Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Love your optimism Enigma but if we want to improve in terms of quality we can't put our hopes to a youngster. We need a ready world beater.

As a team we can gel to be better naturally but we need more quality as well.

can't always buy world beaters. at some point we need to build a solid base with some young home grown players, especially when we have the quality we do in our youth system. a lot of people are theorizing that pogba is our answer, when maybe we should be looking elsewhere. we have seen many players throughout the years who were supposed to have this great potential, only to have reached their ceiling young and then fail to produce that quality ever again. it is similar to people writing oscar off, yet he's still very young and may still be growing as a player.

I've not seen a great deal of him but what I have seen im not too impressed. To me he looks too stiff, like he has a bit of an awkward running technique, all knees. I would make him more supple, possibly encourage yoga in his training, if he isn't already.

Our midfield is fine but if I could choose a midfielder it would be that veratti lad in paris. He really gets stuck in. Nothing fancy, just keeps it simple and keeps a good tempo going. He was the difference in our loss against them. I cannot imagine him leaving psg though. I should imagine he's on a good contract there.

I like Verratti as well but I think Pogba is more attacking option and his potential is to become the next Vieira/Yaya/Ballack monster.

Juventus have already sold two of their fantastic (title-winning) midfield from the past two or three seasons in Pirlo and Vidal. Vidal I suppose is theoretically replaced by Khedira (although he was injured in pre-season, replaced in the Super Cup by Sturaro) and Marchisio can inherit Pirlo's legendary role as the deep-lying playmaker.

Pogba is now the shining light of their team, and if they wish to match last season's achievements (i.e. destroying Serie A and reaching the CL final) they would be fools to let him go. Bear in mind also that Milan and Inter have strengthened. Pogba's departure might be inevitable eventually, but I imagine they will want to cling onto him for as long as humanly possible.

They've made other good signings (Mandzukic, Dybala, Zaza, the latter of whom I have admittedly never seen) but to lose their entire first-choice midfield, regardless of the outrageous sum of money which would be involved in Pogba leaving, would really send out the wrong message.

(although it would be magnificent if Pogba were to come to Chelsea)

Oscars injury throws a little bit more spice into the mix.

Makes me wonder if they are liable to changing formation?

Front two of Mandzukic and Dybala?

Worth noting that Pogba's been handed the legendary number 10 shirt this season.... They don't give that number out willy nilly!

Also the same bloke who said Rahman was done weeks ago ! Not that I believe a word off of Twitter but that is what these rumours threads are for

coco:

I would be very upset if Oscar left, although I suppose they wouldn't be willing to part with one of their key assets if we don't budge on one of ours they want. I do wonder what the fee would be though; obviously the speculation on Pogba has driven his perceived market value into ridiculous territory, but considering Oscar's quality, age, potential, and the fact that he has four years left on his contract, he must be worth at least £40m.

ForeverCarefree:

Juventus are pretty flexible with their formation anyway. Last year they tended to switch between a 4-diamond-2 and a 3-5-2, although two consistent features were two up front and at least a three-man midfield.

There were rumours linking them to Cuadrado and Ramires as well, although I have no idea how much truth there was to them. If they were to replace Pogba with Ramires it would be one hell of a downgrade though...

I suppose they could [theoretically] line up like this:

Buffon; Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Bonucci-Evra; Marchisio-Ramires-Khedira; Oscar; Mandzukic-Dybala

In a four-diamond-two there's really no room for Cuadrado though, although he could play as a right wing back if they reverted to a three-man defence at any point.

rob's a massive prick when he got something right he brags about it like he just found a cure for cancer when there's someone else that had already reported the news before him, but got to say he's pretty reliable

Pogba had took the number 10 shirt, I don't think he is going anywhere this summer, maybe at best we could get some sort of option on him if cuardrado ends up going there, but I honestly think he is barca bound next summer.

beasley is hardly ever wrong about Chelsea stuff, smoke and fire n all that??....

pedro got my panties wet, but pogba will make me squirt!!

He's just like the rest of them out there, full of sh*t. He get's one right and then won't shut up about how he was right, then when he get's another 10 wrong he will ignore it completely and hope that people forget about it.

I always hear about the biggest rumours from somewhere else before he even says anything about it.

Rob Beasley is such a prick. He was saying weeks ago that United agreed terms with Pedro and Chelsea gave up. Now he's trying to back track his words -- what an idiot.

I've not seen beasley get much wrong in years and he has a direct relationship with Jose etc.

I would take from that tweet, That pogba is at least on our radar but he may well be purposely misleading, doing a job for his mate etc!

Doesn't realy make sense since pogba re signed but this is chelsea and football after all!!

No he didn't, he said Pedro was unlikely.

He's usually right about his Chelsea stuff and i like his attitude. Especially his banter.

f**king hate it when this pointless never-happening-in-a-million-years thread gets bumped.
