He's 28, all the bollocks about him being older is nonsense. Falcao would be my first choice striker, he's the real deal. Cavani would be my second choice, followed by costa. If we get any of them i'll be happy

Anybody think we could pry Llorente away from Juventus?  He obviously wouldn't be the number one choice and he'd probably play second fiddle to Lukaku, but he'd be a nice option if we can't get Cavanni or Costa.  

Gents I think central to any major spending on a striker should be related to their ability to be flexible and play with someone else as well as some up front. This is why Rooney was so appealing. Honestly I'm not sure anyone is out there that fits that description who we would have here.

It's gathering steam, may have legs this story.

There seem to be a heck of a lot of rumours at the moment. Will be hyped if he does come to us, and is announced sooner rather than later (as in before world cup). Would make me anticipate next season even more :D

Rob Beasley might be a complete div, but when it comes to José, he does seem to have some sort of connection and is always the 1st with any news regarding him. 

Some strikers people don't talk about that realistically would be good for us.

 

Mario Gomez - Although the same build as Lukaku, he's an old-school poacher, good work-rate and scores goals left, right and centre (and on his head!). He's 28-29(?) so a bit old but guaranteed goals. (Only issue is he's injured just now and I'm not sure how prone he is to that)

 

Mario Mandzukic - The reason Gomez was 'kicked' out the Bayern squad last season, he was in sh*t-hot form. Great build-up play, decent enough finisher and he would suit our style of footie. (Also I believe he's not keen on the system Pep's instilled AND he'll without a doubt lose his spot with Lewi coming in next season.)

 

Mario Balotelli - You know the score, personally though I'm not keen on him. 

 

Mario Karim Benzema - Amazing build-up play, average finisher, only 24-25 and will be attainable IF Madrid manage to lure Suarez away. (Also played under Mou for a few seasons)

 

My personal favourite of the 4 is Mario Gomez, however realistically it's Mandzukic who is a lot more dynamic and would without a doubt benefit us. For anyone that doesn't rate him honestly go and watch full Bayern games, especially last season.

Not sure if we want to be going for a 28 year old left back, is not exactly someone I would expect we could build a long term future around. Though maybe 5 years of good service would be enough to justify 16.5mill down.

I watched him a lot last season and honestly think he's underrated, the positions he gets himself in are brilliant and he's one of those strikers who'll never feature on a Best Goal of the Season list. He basically scores a lot of tap-ins and headers. I don't know... just someone different compared to these other strikers who come out and collect the ball which sometimes overcrowds the midfield.

Hoping the Costa rumours are all true that it's near enough a done deal. He's a moody but brilliant centre forward. Not only would he be perfect for us but it would make others hate us even more! Win win!

I believe the deal was agreed months ago. Costa stays central something we haven't had, he also can play alone which is his strong point or with like Garcia off him. Like Drogba he is a late developer and at 25 he is in his prime. We need another striker and hopefully Lukaku will return and have the mentality to fight for his place.

Courtios and Costa will also give Jose European pedigree, they would both settle in England and the premiership like his Porto boys.

If it is true, I'm already excited for next season.
