Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Im not so sure. Once the holidays are over I think it will be sorted quite quickly. I cant see any of the players or clubs wanting to drag it on any longer than it has to.

Well the club already confirmed the buyout clause. And he probably needs to get his personal life settled and all that before being presented.

But cesc didn't?!

Remember when arsenal confirmed pools buyout fur saurez and we all know how that turned out...

Think the transfer will be official by this time next week, I do wonder what the plan will be if we do sell lukaku.

I don't think we will get over 20m for lukaku unless we are prepared to sell him to Liverpool or spurs, and I wouldnt be keen on either.

I imagine ba will leave as he hinted he wanted more games last season. That leaves us with costa and torres.

Maybe falcao at a knock down price might be worth a punt, although I doubt the club will be willing to financially commit to a 28 yr old, coming off the back of a long term knee injury. Although if falcao returns to form it could prove to be a masterstroke.

There aren't too many options out there, martinez, higuain, morata, remy, bony, balotelli, aubemayang, all come with either bloated price tags, or a fair of risk.

I'm just hoping we don't go into the season knowing an injury or suspension to Costa, puts us in the same boat we were in last season, ie the infamous torres no show!

Fabregas wanted the deal to go through before the world cup started.

Atletico confirmed the buyout as well, unlike liverpool who refused to in that case. Of course everything is not 100% and transfers fall apart but I don't think the club will allow that to happen to what seemed to be their number 1 target for a striker.

Due in London this week apparently so we might get an official announcement of the signing being completed soon.

Nice, womder if his announcement will kick off a few others that are supposedly done like Filipe Luis and Tiago.

He's already Chelsea according to wikipedia, thats official enough for me.

So were Pogba, Felipe Luis etc few days ago and even Falcao lol. Wikipedia can be edited very easily.

This was off the back of an interview he gave rather than media speculation.

He's on route to London although not confirmed when he would be heading to Chelsea to sign the contract that was just me guessing.

Pretty safe assumption to make i'd say. Imagine it'll be confirmed sooner rather than later.

He could just be going shopping.....this is the longest signing saga ever, must be something fishy going on; maybe he's going for a makeover before the signing ceremony ?

We triggered his release clause on the opening day of the transfer window and he's currently on holiday following international duty.

It only feels drawn out because the move has been mooted for so long.

Just a little bit from the London Evening Standard

Diego Costa is confident he will put his World Cup disappointment behind him and make a huge impact for Chelsea next season.

I'm sure you will Diego!

So he's signed then.....or he hasn't yet, or has he?  Not sure why he would have an extended holiday a couple of games in the World Cup is hardly having a work out the way Spain fell apart.  Would be nice to see him at Cobham this week with pen in hand..
