September 6, 201510 yr Imagine a prime Drogba with Zola at his best playing behind him. That would have been an amazing sight.
September 6, 201510 yr He had a fantastic night and I think, like Giovinco for Toronto, he's on another class compared to other MLS players. Montreal last night was playing with a make-shift defense as 4 of their defenders were out (3 suspended and one injured - they had their usual wing-backs playing as CB and had a winger and DM playing as RB and LB), but Drogba completely controlled and calmed the game. He was winning headers in defense, he was working the ball to the wings to release other players and he even played as DM towards the end (we should have kept him to partner Matic on the pivot ). I think the best moment of the game came at the 88 minute. Montreal took a short corner to waste time, three players converged on Drogba and he just breezed by them. Nearly had a fourth, but his shot went wide. Can't wait for next year to come and see a Drogba vs Lampard confrontation.
September 6, 201510 yr Was just thinking, perhaps we shouldn't underestimate the effect of his absence this season. He would defiantly have plenty to say, strength in the dressing room cannot be underestimated, should bring him back as a player/striking coach

September 20, 201510 yr that control on the third goal Edited September 20, 201510 yr by DidierDrogbalala
September 20, 201510 yr that control on the third goal +1 even the crowd cheered for that touch off the drop kick from the keep - The Great DD made it look easy w/ the control & assist for the goal
September 20, 201510 yr Boy he looks good in that Blue shirt. Someone said in the discussions on the Costa thread that Diego is every bit as technically gifted as Drogba. Do me a lemon.
September 21, 201510 yr Boy he looks good in that Blue shirt. Someone said in the discussions on the Costa thread that Diego is every bit as technically gifted as Drogba. Do me a lemon. Nice joke...
September 23, 201510 yr Boy he looks good in that Blue shirt. Someone said in the discussions on the Costa thread that Diego is every bit as technically gifted as Drogba. Do me a lemon. I do agree that Didier was better, but both players at times have had questions about their technical ability, both are underrated for it. I suppose that comes from them being so physical, it gets overlooked.
September 25, 201510 yr Drogba is rated as one of top 40 Strikers ever in this link http://xtraimmortal.blogspot.com/2013/07/Striker.html It rate players based on methodological design and implementation.
September 25, 201510 yr It rate players based on methodological design and implementation. Sounds great.... Not a footie discussion until we consider methodological design.
September 26, 201510 yr Thanks for this, he's still got enough of it to be successful in America! Sacrilege! As if I would ever say such a thing about the king.
September 26, 201510 yr Would love to still have Drogba here. Have the feeling he is still better than Remy and Falcao... The second goal was sick (no one in our current squad would score that): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWCfNQbJ_6A The first one wasn't half bad either: http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2015/09/26/goal-didier-drogba-rounds-steve-birnbaum-and-slots-another-past-bill-hamid Edited September 26, 201510 yr by Jon Stakes
September 26, 201510 yr We miss the king, not just on the pitch but for the huge character he is, the charisma, the motivation he gave to players to raise their game, the mental strength. We were lucky that the big man was here for so long, one of a kind. Love to see him doing the business there and hope to see him back soon.
September 26, 201510 yr The Drog is the Drog. Love him. That feeling of confidence I used to get seeing him on the pitch or the 'f**k it, were gonna win now' feeling I used to get when I saw him warming up as a sub will never be replicated.
