Didier Drogba Returns!

Featured Replies

Half the time on pitch one goal less...Didi for me is fine to continue as 3rd striker next term as well. Please tell me how many points did we lose playing him. Slow as the day is long but somehow he's scored 7 goals this season...

Yeah, although it seems Torres gets more points from Sqwauka you can't deny Drogba's conversion rate.

He's an absolute legend, no doubts about it but other than the goal, his performance against Leicester was poor, I hope he reconsiders and retires to taking a coaching role with us next year, but I don't think he should play on, if he does it shouldn't be with us, I just don't see how Solanke or Brown or Bamford couldn't take that spot and perform the a similar level.

Actually his second half performance was as good as his first half was poor

So just been out with my mates for a 'League Winning Celebratory Dinner' (something we haven't done for far too long) and we were talking about Drogba moving on. One of my mate's brings up something I've never noticed, and now it's on ChelseaTV which is just bizarre but it sums up the man.

So in the Champions League Semi-Final, 2nd Leg at the Bridge against Liverpool in 08 we get a penalty. Now it's the Lamps one that everyone remembers because it's not long after his mum passed. One of the most emotional moments I've ever experienced in sport and why I love Lamps.

But when he scores it and the players run over to the corner flag in front of the Matthew Harding, Drogba is one of the first there and as Lamps is kissing his black armband Didier wraps him up. You can see Didier saying something with him, but he doesn't let him go for a good 10 seconds and it's not the normal chest-thumping, screaming celebratory hug but something more. Ashley is there too, but it's Didier who is holding him, protecting him and comforting him.

Beyond all the goals, beyond Munich it's that heart that makes him an absolute legend and why, even if he stops playing, we can't let him go. He's too special.

He'll be at home language wise! Oh my heart aches.

I am sure that is why he is going to Montreal. I know Chi-town wanted him, but let's be serious Montreal is a perfect fit for The Great DD.

someone just made this tweet of a statement from Jose Mourinho

"Roman Abramovich told me he could bring Ronaldinho to Chelsea. I told him 'get me Didier Drogba"

didnt he clarify that line recently and say that actually ronaldinho was never a possibility because he would never have said no to ronaldinho if he was. it was never either or
