May 2, 201511 yr torresvsdrogba.jpgHalf the time on pitch one goal less...Didi for me is fine to continue as 3rd striker next term as well. Please tell me how many points did we lose playing him. Slow as the day is long but somehow he's scored 7 goals this season...

May 2, 201511 yr He's an absolute legend, no doubts about it but other than the goal, his performance against Leicester was poor, I hope he reconsiders and retires to taking a coaching role with us next year, but I don't think he should play on, if he does it shouldn't be with us, I just don't see how Solanke or Brown or Bamford couldn't take that spot and perform the a similar level. Actually his second half performance was as good as his first half was poor
May 7, 201511 yr So just been out with my mates for a 'League Winning Celebratory Dinner' (something we haven't done for far too long) and we were talking about Drogba moving on. One of my mate's brings up something I've never noticed, and now it's on ChelseaTV which is just bizarre but it sums up the man. So in the Champions League Semi-Final, 2nd Leg at the Bridge against Liverpool in 08 we get a penalty. Now it's the Lamps one that everyone remembers because it's not long after his mum passed. One of the most emotional moments I've ever experienced in sport and why I love Lamps. But when he scores it and the players run over to the corner flag in front of the Matthew Harding, Drogba is one of the first there and as Lamps is kissing his black armband Didier wraps him up. You can see Didier saying something with him, but he doesn't let him go for a good 10 seconds and it's not the normal chest-thumping, screaming celebratory hug but something more. Ashley is there too, but it's Didier who is holding him, protecting him and comforting him. Beyond all the goals, beyond Munich it's that heart that makes him an absolute legend and why, even if he stops playing, we can't let him go. He's too special. Edited May 7, 201511 yr by Blue Daze
May 7, 201511 yr Not meaning to sound arrogant but I noticed that when it happened Frank was clearly gone, if Didier had let go he would have collapsed on the floor, I remember it well.
June 10, 201511 yr Officially released by the club. See you later rather than goodbye I would imagine, wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up playing next season.
June 10, 201511 yr Forever a legend. Didn't expect much when it was announced he was returning but was in for a pleasant surprise as he scored a few goals.
June 11, 201511 yr His speech after the trophy presentation was an amazing moment to witness and his shout-out to Lamps was beyond classy. Legend.
June 11, 201511 yr Thanks for the great memories Drog. One of my all time favorites. I always think of him when we have our 'Big games'.
June 11, 201511 yr He will be talked about long after we have come and gone. Glad I was about and able to see the great man do his stuff in the flesh, not often you get to see legends play for your club.
