Strange move for him.

He will get more playing time but he has just dented his hopes of more silverware.

I actually thought he'd stay because he was starting to be a regular fixture in their team towards the end of the season.

Can't see this move changing anything for Liverpool.

He's out of contract though. If Citeh were not going to renew (long term) then he had little option.

Most places are saying he was offered virtually the same contract well the City one offering a bit more £.

Oh right. Well, if that is true then he's a fool :)

They offered him 165k a week, by all accounts, and some have rumoured that they offered him 180k. To put that into context, Hazard, Costa, Silva are rumoured to be on 180-200k a week.

City tried hard to keep them and offfering him upwards of 165-180k means offering him near enough to the 200k mark, and essentially if squad players like Milner are earning 200k, one can only imagine the outcry from players like Zabaleta on under 100k, Kompany on 120, etc, and from any new signings.  But [/size]he only played in 51% of City's minutes on the pitch this year, despite not having any injuries according to transfermarkt. Pelligrini himself said 'sometimes you have to play a more technical player'.

He probably wants guarantees over the CM

No idea why he left, he played as many games as Kompany and Fernandinho who are both starters. Started a bunch of CL games, including both legs against Barcelona. Only reason he didn't play more towards the end of the season was because he kept rejecting their contract offers so they weren't going to waste time playing someone who was going to leave.

I'd imagine he wasn't going to get a long-term contract at City, certainly not at those wages. It may even have been a one-year rolling contract whereas Liverpool seem to have given him a long-term one which is what I predicted a while back.

To quote Jalen Rose, 'keep getting dem cheques'.

And yet they didn't want to offer Sterling, their best player, more than £90k a week.

Work that one out.

Here's something weird.

James Milner will turn 30 next season, 5 years ago he was young player of the year.

our pall @Rawk_Meltdown has got some seriously good stuff going with regards to their comments on Milner.  In essence, they believe that even though other teams were in for him, and that those teams could offer CL football, but he still came to Liverpool is a coup and shows he understand their importance, and history, in world football

Awwww that's so sweet...

Certainly won be fearing a milner henderson midfield next season. Milner is a decent player but I don't think he is good enough to start for the best teams in Europe. If he had stayed at city I'm sure he would have been further down the pecking next season, as his position is an area you would expect city to strengthen over the summer.

I think they'll go for a three man with Can, Henderson and Milner.

My opinion on Milner is if he's in your team your team is better for it.

or Henderson, Allen, Milner...HAM

Where would leave coutinho though? I would think it would be milner and henderson with countinho in the 10.

Didn't know where to post this, but I just remembered something... in two days we'll have Suarez face Evra and Chiellini again.

Shame, sounds like Chiellini won't start because of an injury. All we need is Ivanovic, and Suarez's first victim, Bakkal on that team...

Seems BT sports will be £5 p/m next season for current BT broadband customers.

Not sure how much it will be for those on SKY/Virgin who get it on the bigger packages.
