Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2014-15

When I saw the headline '3 EPL players in racism row in Thailand' I immediately prayed - Not us again. Thankfully our boys were not that stupid and being scumbags.

Rafa, can't make into CL in Italy, odds on to the manager at Real, maybe we all have a chance managing liverpool one day.

Just had to check how Benitez did at Napoli this term. They finished fifth...and now he is taking over Real. Really don't care how Real does under him or anyone but one has to wonder how he lands these jobs.

Peter Principle.

You don't need to be particularly educated or clever for that matter to get a job as a waiter...

I think they want someone in for a year and he has been known to have short term success so kind of makes sense from that POV. However, Madrid fans cry when there team doesn't play attacking football and bar one season at Liverpool Benitez has never been the most attacking manager. Also his league record is poor so I think they have brought him in to win the Champions League as he has a good record in knockout tournaments.

When he took over the season before they finished 2nd in the league.

He's been allowed to spend £110m in 2 years and leaves them without Champions League football.

To put that in perspective I read that Juventus haven't spent more than £15m on any one player in about 3 years but Benetiz was given he best part of £40m to spend on Higuain as soon as he arrived.

Not the first time he's left a club in a right mess when he's left and yet he looks set to once again walk into one of the biggest jobs in World football.

The man must be the absolute don in interviews.

I was reading at the weekend, that Jaqui Oatley was treated to a pretty rude and dismissive interview from Arsene Wenger in October, apparently he was in a foul mood and was quite an unpleasant interviewee that day (this from the classy professorial Wenger, fancy that)

Apparently afterwards she took a bit of stick on Twitter which then turned so nasty the police got involved, to quote, "the intimidation turned specific and direct" Leaving aside the sexist and threatening nature of some of the comments, can you imagine if fans of certain other clubs had behaved that way...Wall to wall headlines is my guess, but this happened in October and its the first I've heard of it.

Not saying it wasn't reported but I never saw it, also when it comes to Arsenal there seems to be a misconception that AFC and their fans are somehow a cut above others.

I beg to differ, I also think Wenger is a nasty, snide, sh*t stirrer, a kick and run merchant who starts trouble and then acts all hurt when someone gives him back a bit of stick.

In short he disgusts me.

Anyone hear about the mass brawl at the end of the Motherwell Rangers game? Absolutely ridiculous

Remember when there was talk about them joining the Premier League? At least that's been knocked on the head.

Unfortunately in football the media have favourites who can do no wrong Gerrard, Henry and Wenger spring to mind. It's ridiculous.

Anyone seen the list of teams Manchester United could draw as possible oppenents for Champions League qualification?

Anderlecht
CSKA Moscow
Fenerbahce
Monaco
Lazio
Panathinaikos
Rapid Vienna
Sparta Prague
Sporting Lisbon
Young Boys

Wouldn't be a forgone conclusion by any means if they drew a lot of those sides.

and all because they lost. don't have a second team and if I did it wouldn't be Glasgow Rangers.

Classic Benitez. Spent millions to turn the second best team in Italy into the fifth best, and a Champions League team into a Europa League team. There's probably a Napoli forum out there somewhere that's full of Scousers telling them what a great job he's done, or why none of it is his fault.

It's utterly unfathomable to me why Real would want him. His lack of success aside, it's not as if he offers the exciting cavalier brand of football that they demand either. Still, Gareth Barry and Lee Cattermole will be waiting by their phones in anticipation.

Fourth place is seen as a forgone conclusion to the group stage. I would love it if one of those sides knocked United out. Then again, that would be bad for the English co-efficient.

We'll just have to win it to make up for it - I'd take that!

Was out drinking with a few new acquaintances down pub watching cup final on Saturday and once again had to put up with not only 'cfc played boring footy this season' bs, but also told what a great job Rafa did for us..I am so bored arguing against the thickness that non cfc people see written on sh*t like mail online and take it as gospel. I just went to the bar and got myself another pint instead
