Is United signing another left back in Rojo? A bit odd when they already paid 30M for a 19 year old. I know he's injured, but spend that much money on 2 defenders to cover 1 spot is madness.

I have a feeling they'll be using him as a CB in that 352 system they're using with Shaw as the wingback. Who knows what's going over there?

I may spend more time on that blog than our own. Absolutely priceless. I read today a comment on Sky Sports where a Gooners compares Cesc playing in a Chelsea shirt like witnessing his wife sleeping with another man. Think that sums it up perfectly in so many ways.

It was a panic buy to try and kick start Moyes' team into action.

At £37 million, he will surely go down as one of the worst buys in Utd history. At the moment, it's on a par with the Fellani transfer. Anonymous throughout his Utd career, he can't control a game, can't run. can't chase back, can't head, can't tackle and has only one foot. Unbelievably, they're not his biggest failing, that's his lack of speed in doing anything. Slows Utd down at every opportunity, mainly because he can't keep up, allowing the opposition to reorganise every time. Ask yourself, how many attacks have gone through the middle in the last 6 months, how many slide rule passes? Very few, making Utd easy to defend against, as it always goes down the wings. Don't kid yourself with the number of assists he has, all free kicks and corners. In fact, check his free kicks and corners against Swansea, absolute garbage.

A Chelsea sub, a Spanish sub and he should be a Utd sub.

What a shame! Mata does not deserve that and clearly those Manc scum do not deserve a player of Mata's caliber. Hope he jumps that sinking ship in January.

I think Drogba can still do a job, he's certainly an upgrade on Torres. Although I might be reading too much into it but Torres looked like he was being converted into a winger of sorts in pre-season so hopefully that means we'll be getting another in.

No chance we will get Cavani as a backup, think he's pretty tired of playing backup to Zaltan. The thing is, Cavani hasn't been playing well for a year now, He's still an upgrade to what we got on the bench, but certainly not worth the expected huge fee.

FIFA rejects Barcelona appeal, upholds lengthy transfer ban

FIFA has rejected Barcelona’s appeal against their transfer ban, meaning the Liga giants will be prevented from making signings in the next two windows.

Barcelona have also been fined 450,000 Swiss francs (£297,000) after being punished for "breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18."
