They knew this already. No drama there. It was about 2 next windows anyway. I'm glad they didn't chance the decision even if it is their favourite pet we are talking about.

Daily rant time, Sorry lads

Anyone else find the ice bucket challenge thing that all these footballers are doing really self absorbing and narcissistic? Only today did i find out that it was for a charity, Had i not researched it, You could have easily been fooled into thinking it's just a bunch of rich, arrogant, uneducated bunch of tossers pouring ice water over themselves. What grinds my gears the most is the fact the likes of John Terry, Vinny Kompany and Ronaldo all took their shirts off showing their impeccable bodies whilst doing it, You do realize you can pour ice water over yourselves with clothes on fellas? The American athletes who done this had their shirts on, Another part of the narcissism.

The irony is whilst poor sods in Mozambique cannot find water to drink for love nor money, Over in this part of the world we're pouring it over ourselves for a bit of fun. I hate all these look at me challenges being done in the name of charities, Half the time the people doing them don't give a rats behind about the charities but just use it more as a way of creating excitement in their lives and having spontaneous fun.

You sound like a bundle of joy.

It is becoming rather tiresome though. What annoys is that the celebs aren't saying how to donate or how much they are donating. I suspect most of them aren't bothering, like most of the participants.

Donating is fun past time to rich people. The money to less fortunate is always good but it should be distributed in another way from the beginning. The very people we idolize are usually filthy rich.

Meh, at least it's not like that neck nominating thing that was going around a couple of months ago. I never saw the point in that.

Even if that was the case they are still raising awareness which is just as important as donating.

i don't think it's healthy to idolise a football player. don't get me wrong, they do what they do  well, but hardly making a massive change to the world.

Some do. Just ask a certain Drogba. And a ton of them have foundations and charities in their home countries.

How are they raising awareness mate? When i clicked on the video to watch the Ronaldo ice bucket challenge, It said 'ALS Ice Bucket challenge', How was i to know what the hell ALS is? I have since read what ALS is through google, Ronaldo didn't tell me what it was for or about.

Whilst i may get crucified on here for questioning a legend of yours but why couldn't he set up some charities over here? In the land that fed him, It's kind of selfish and racist to set it up back home.

But he made you look it up and you are now aware...

Not touching your second post with a barge pole ;P

Because it is his home and they are in more need of help than we are.

It's pretty clear, I shouldn't have to explain how.

He did tell you, indirectly. You see your favourite celeb/footballer/whatever mentioning something about an ALS challenge, your first instinct is to find out what the hell it is (although some of them already tell you) and why is someone you like is taking part in it.

I personally had no idea what ALS was a month ago, now I know thanks to this.

Da f**k did I just read?

The man managed to raise enough money to build an entire hospital in his country of birth, a nation is dire need of aid... That's a remarkable feat for any person let alone a footballer who are typically depicted as being selfish and stupid.

If you honestly think that's a stick to beat him with can I ask what you've ever done to help your fellow man?

Whatever it is I bet you didn't get a hospital built.

I hear what you are saying because it does get annoying and almost a status symbol to take the ice bucket challenge. At the same time it is to help a good cause. I heard the guy who started this was diagnosed with All and began this thing. Kudos to him for shedding light on an incurable disease, raising ridiculous amounts of money for the cure or treatmen, and most importantly kudos to show once again how thin and insecure celebrities truly are. Like I said before, it has become a "look at me on Twitter" thing now where everyone and their grandmothers want to be seen taking the ice bucket challenge.

With that said and circling back to my original thought; it is great to see so much money pouring in to charity due to this one guys ideas. Finally the shallowness of celebrities is beginning to pay dividends. Now only if somebody would convince them it is cool to jump off a bridge and donate in the name of world hunger.

I like Drogba, I'm not accusing him of being in the bad brigade, But by making hospitals in his home country he is taking care of his own people, Which in theory means he views them as more important than people suffering in other countries. Now let's flip the races here, White English football player goes to Nigeria where there is a new mythical football league with big money available to the older pro's in Europe, After finishing off his first season collecting £2/3 million, The White English football player decides to open up several charities, One for Parkinson's, One for Breast cancer awareness etc etc. Are you seriously telling me people in Nigeria will not question that man's motives for not organizing charities in Africa but instead opening them in his home country?

Another thing, Don't give me all that cobblers about people in African are more needy than people over here, I mean if you are broke, homeless or struggling with a serious illness you are just as in need of help than say people in Africa, One man's struggle can never outweigh another man's struggle, You should treat them equally.

What a moronic post, how the hell us it racist and selfish to spend his own money in his own country looking after the needy?

Looking after your own is classified as racism, The only difference is White people aren't allowed that luxury these days and Black/Asian people have been afforded that luxury by Boris Johnson types like yourself. Why are the people suffering in his country of more importance than the people suffering in the country which gave him his wages, set up his life for him and treated him like their own?

A kid who is badly malnourished in Ivory Coast is of more importance than a homeless guy in London living with cancer? What a joke.

I reckons (fwiw) that the original point about some celebs being a bit up themselves re. this ice thing was ok. But there's zero need Kinkladze to bring race into this (and, btw, i am completely opposed to political correctness).

Just watching Lille-Porto. Have to say Liverpool made a good buy in Origi. Excellent touch and eye for a pass. I think their strikers situation is well planned. Sturridge no uno, Lambert backing up and for next term Origi back after a year in a good French league and maybe even CL football.

On a side note Kalou is still Kalou.
