October 23, 201411 yr Balloteli has now been done for apparently threatening a women who was taking a photo of his car!
October 23, 201411 yr Robanas always make me think it looks like the player is really one footed and will do anything to avoid using their weaker foot. I know that's not the case but it's got to be part of it to some extent.
October 23, 201411 yr A good week for Berahino and Harry Kane (who scored a hat trick tonight) Could be England's future centre forwards
October 23, 201411 yr No its better if only one of them does Europa League football would make it very difficult for Liverpool to finish the season well Think they're on a good enough pace in doing so regardless of Thursday night football.
October 23, 201411 yr I agree...can't remember hazard actually finding a teammate...it's great skill, but without being too much of a killjoy, it's pointless if it never sets up,a chance etc...lamela's though was truly remarkable He put it on a plate for Torres here with an unreal run and cross. Other than that though, it does seem like it has a low success rate for finding a teammate.
October 23, 201411 yr Watched an interview with Hazard once and he said the rabona was necessary when crossing with a certain foot for stability or something, he said he can't cross well unless doing it that way. Well that's what he says anyway.
October 23, 201411 yr Strangely enough it wasn't so bad last night. Watching Real play was great, the downside was that we were the opposition. Totally outclassed, but didn't honestly expect anything else, and we were lucky that Real decided to coast at three nil. Won't get off so lightly at theirs so will be interesting to see how we play it. As for balotelli, not that arsed about the whole shirt swapping saga, and think it's deflecting too much from the truth. He gave the most lethargic and uncommitted 45 min performance I can recall seeing from one of our players for as long as I an remember. If that's just 'his style' then we can well do without it. At least his shirt wouldn't have been too sweaty for Pepe. Lazy gobsh*te.
October 24, 201411 yr It's one of the cruelest thing about youth development in any British-influenced football system; a kid does a rabona or a stepover and the coaches and parents immediately respond with "yeah, but what about his end product?!"Rabona crosses aren't great for 'end product' because crosses themselves aren't great for end product. It's an extremely useful and valuable tool in a player's arsenal to outfox an opponent, especially while learning to use their other foot.
October 24, 201411 yr Rodgers apparently grew frustrated in his press conference yesterday at constant questioning about Balotelli. Way I see, he bought the circus to town, he's got to live with the consequences... Good and bad.
October 24, 201411 yr The rabona. I understand that sometimes it can be a clever way of creating the 1/2 yard to deliver a ball but more often than not and last night was exactly this, it's a flashy alternative to avoid learning to use your weaker foot. For Lamela he should have put the inside of his right foot through that ball - he had the time and space to do so- and made sure it finished in the back of the onion bag. Impressive finish but totally unecessary and only worth the risk because the game was over by then. Maybe I'm just old and miserable!
October 24, 201411 yr I think Lovren and Skrtel are getting scapegoated too, neither of them are bad defenders, Skrtel looked a quality defender under the FSW and Dalglish, and Lovren evidently was good enough to convince Brenda to splurge 20 million quid on him (same with Sakho too), there are two reasons why they are looking w**k. 1) Brenda is totally inept tactically 2) Gerrard is supposedly the holding player, yet spends all match walking around doing nothing other than booting 60 yard diagonal passes every so often. Get a decent manager/change the tactics, and get a midfielder who actually protects the defence, and that would sort out a lot of their problems.
October 24, 201411 yr I love that liverpool are feeling the pressure this season. They are imploding and their manager is growing frustrated. Mr cool, calm and collected is starting to crack and show his real managerial ineptitude. One season (and one player less) it took liverpool to go back in to mediocrity haha.
October 24, 201411 yr We all pretty much predicted this as soon as they had European football and lost jaws. They are a feeble club in reality and can't handle 2 games in a week.
October 24, 201411 yr I thought Demba Ba was surely favorite to win the Nobel Peace Prize this year for his heroics at Anfield. Think of the equanimity he brought us and all football fans this season.
October 24, 201411 yr Haha it gets better: BALOTELLI TROUBLE Police are investigating Mario Balotelli after a complaint was made of threatening behaviour by a woman in Manchester. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We are investigating a report of threatening behaviour following an incident in Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe. Officers will be speaking to all concerned in due course.” Source: Sky Sports Edited October 24, 201411 yr by Bobbywoodhogan

These defenders would do very well in our team.
October 24, 201411 yr After the nearly season they had last season, it brings me great pleasure to see what a mess Liverpool are in this season.

October 24, 201411 yr After the nearly season they had last season, it brings me great pleasure to see what a mess Liverpool are in this season. It was very close for them. A lot of attention focuses on the Gerrard slip. I tend to think that, with Suarez playing the first 10 games of the season he missed, they would have won the league and, this season, pushed on thanks to the likely extra investment, sponsorship, etc enabling them to buy better players. Suarez's actions cost them the lot. Edited October 24, 201411 yr by Spudulike

There are not many teams in the Premier League (or the CL) that could live with Real. I hope you and your son enjoyed parts of the game despite the result. The Balotelli thing makes me think of the extent to which some foreign players will ever 'get' the history or status of the English club they play for. Some will but for others it might just be a job and not a tradition to understand.
