Tomorrow sees the draw for the group stages. We are of course in Pot 1 so avoid the better teams. Some banana skins though in the other pots ,PSG or Dortmund in Pot 2 ,Roma in Pot 4.

Liverpool Pot 3 could nicely get  Madrid,PSG and Roma, City Pot 2 Madrid, Galatassary, Roma. L'Arse are similar to ourselves (providing they get there of course)

Teams already in Chelsea,Manchester City, Liverpool,  Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, Juventus, Roma, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Shakhtar Donetsk, CSKA Moscow, Ajax, Galatasaray, Anderlecht, Olympiacos, Basel,Maribor, APOEL, BATE Borisov, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Porto.

I want City to get the Journeys- Zenit, Bate etc.

Liverpool to get a group of death- Madrid, PSG, Roma. Also I think Liverpool could knock one of those teams out

Arsenal I don't care about. They're not going to win the league or the champions league. It doesn't matter.

I want us to get a straight forward draw. We've been in Europe consistently for over 10 years so need for anything too exciting. Leverkusen, Salzbourg, Maribor will do nicely.

The challenging sides of:

Pot 2:

  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Juventus
  • PSG
  • Shakhtar Donetsk
  • Manchester City

Pot 3:

  • Liverpool
  • Galatasaray

Pot 4:

  • Roma
  • AS Monaco

These days the teams are either difficult or 20,000 miles away (or both), hard to win in the draw.

Do Shakthar even have a team or stadium left? Last I had heard about 4 of their team were absent for their pre-season as they didn't want to return to Ukraine.

Ajax!!! Just for the return to Amsterdam!!!!

I've been hoping for that since about the beginning of time, but so far in vain :-(

How the hell are Arsenal still qualifying for pot 1? their european record is pretty dire since 2006...

Anyway, i wouldnt bet against a reunion with ol' fat boy, and we normally get a German side, so Im predicting we will draw Napoli, Schalke and Steaua Bucharest

Well I hope we get some of the easier teams, not to concerned about something entertaining to watch I just want to get through in the easiest way to be honest.

3rd pot is very strong indeed. Lots of tough teams in pot 2 team with there either being top teams, journeys or Basel. Obviously Roma would be the team to avoid in Pot 4.

Ideal group:

Schalke

Ajax

Malmo

Nightmare group:

Shakhtar

Zenit

BATE

You don't want three trips to Eastern Europe.

We can't English teams can't draw each other until the quarter finals

Personally i think they should scrap that rule. Clubs from the same country only being able to face each other so late in the competition is just stupid. It wasn't so long ago that we had Liverpool in our group, it was in the 2005/06 season.

Reading the list of clubs, I will assume we will get a team with a player/manager connected to Chelsea at some point. Therefore

Zenit

Bayer Leverkusen

Roma

I prefer it, I hate when two clubs from the same country play each other, never feels like a legitimate Champions League game to me.

my prediction for the group is

Shakhtar

Sporting

Roma

I have a feeling we will meet Liverpool at some stage of the competition

Right so sky's coverage is under way so a good two hours before we actually know the group...hope we avoid zenit, shakhtar etc...not exactly a good time to be flying around that part of the world
