Welcome Loic Remy

Featured Replies

I think we bought him because he had a low release clause and so it didn't matter how long it took to arrange Torres' loan to Milan because we knew we could get Remy last minute fairly cheap.

We can sell him in the summer for a respectful profit and sign someone younger and who Jose rates higher.

Agreed but its a shame because i really like Remy.

Same i get the feeling Mourinho doesn't rate him and it was a club signing. Seems like Mourinho wants Enner Valencia.

What makes you think he wants enner valencia? All I've seen is a few tenuous links last week, with no quotes from Mourinho.

I think remy will leave if drogba keeps starting ahead of him. He must have been prepared to be playing second fiddle to Costa, but I don't think he would be happy as 3rd choice behind a 36/37 year old drog.

I think Remy will still be here next season, there is no reason to sell him. With Drogba's performance today i see no reason why he won't start against Everton.

I think if we had a week off before the Everton game he would have started today.

Mourinho obviously rates Remy or he wouldn't have gone with him against City.

I think Remy will leave due to not being an option, he is just backup.

If Costa is fit he plays, going to be hard for anyone to take his place here.

We were linked with him in the summer too.

I think Jose may have thought he could get away with playing Drogba against Villa in order to save Remy for Everton.

The Everton game is key.  If he starts again with Drogba i have to think he might not rate Remy.

Either way i realise Drogba has scored a few goals this season but his performances have been pretty shocking and i hope he's not one of the three strikers next season.

Remy was poor last night and was rightly subbed off. Surprised there's no comments on his performance or lack of it. Drogba would have been slaughtered if he had played like that for 70 minutes.

Poor mans Gudjonson for me

It wasn't that bad a performance.  He still created a few chances, had an attempt at goal and kept the ball moving.

Nowhere near as bad as Drogba has been lately.

Just think that Stones got the better of him in one v one situations.  By the way, first look at john Stones and for a 20 year old he looks great.

It was complete bus barked there with very little space... can't blame him. Although I do agree Drogba would have been better in this situation with some of his physical presence.

Yes out striking options have improved from last season but I still feel there is room for improvement.

Remy has not impressed me on his two starts in the last three games, making very little impact on the game overall and last night was guilty of drifting out wide far too often, I don't think he gave the Everton defense nearly enough trouble,,, Unless he scores he doesn't seem to make an impact on matches.

At this point in time I wouldn't be surprised to see both Drogba and Remy leave the club in the summer.

Thought remy did okay 1st half. But he was anonymous second half. After watching match of the day last night, I would feel sorry for any striker up top with how poor a lot of our deliveries were.

Yes remy is the best in the air, but if we actually out a player, like nasri, bolasie, or arnautovic did, remy and drogba would have a chance.

I don't think drogba has the legs to start anymore, but he is a quality option of the bench, and nearly rolled back the years with that touch and turn in stoppage time.

I actually wouldn't be suprized if we replace both remy and drogba in the summer.

Ignoring the quality of opposition, you thought Remy's performance yesterday and Drogba's performance versus Villa were similar?

Same as the game last week where Drogba started, I didn't see any reason for Remy to start due to the expected lack of space behind and around the Everton defence.

Drogba (Villa): 0 shots, dispossessed 3 times, and 55% pass accuracy.

Remy (Everton): 3 shots, dispossessed 0 times, and 91% pass accuracy.

Remy wasn't great, but he was much better than Drogba was against Villa.

I think Remy is a great third choice striker.. which is good because next season we should be looking for a good second choice striker once drogba hangs up his boots.

You must have been watching a different game to me. I thought he played very well and proved the point alot of us were making. Drogba was awful, again, when he came on.

Both were poor IMO, thank god Costa is back!

I actually like Remy, but is it just me or does he lack a bit of stamina. After 60 minutes he always looks to be breathing heavily.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't fully match fit. He was injured for a while there and doesn't play that often. Only way to really be fit is to play regularly.

Pretty hard for Remy as he’s facing the same kind of situation Ba was faced with at Chelsea.

A striker can’t just come in every few weeks and perform, they need a run of games to get going and take that on to the next game but we don’t allow that because there is rotation with Drogba when Costa is out. We all know if Diego is fit then he play’s because he’s the best striker at the club which is fair enough.

It’s hard for both Drogba and Remy to impress in a cameo role as it were knowing they probably won’t keep their place.

It’s a tough one.

I personally thought Remy did well in the first half against Everton given the service he was given for most of the game. Had a few shots that were close while a good header was saved by Howard. The crossing all night was pretty woeful so he didn’t have much to work with. He did seem to tire second half but I guess that’s what a lack of first team football will do and both Drogs and Remy have suffered from this when playing.

I am doubtful he will stay if the season continues like this in terms of minutes given so we will need to be on the lookout as there is a distinct possibility we will be left with just Costa and maybe Bamford in the summer.
