I think we will get Dybala of Palermo. There have been rumours of his agent meeting with Chelsea representatives over the past week or two, and he was linked with us and Arsenal last year, so i really think it will happen and it would be great if it did as he looks a real talent at 21 yrs old. He looks like he can work for the ball when needed, a great dribbler and a real good eye for goal. I think he comes in for the right side of front three and cuadrado goes out on loan or stays as back up to dybala.

What's everyone think of Depay from PSV? United been linked with him currently

Really like him. I think he is at a similar level to hazard at lille. Only issues are whether he can cut it in the prem, and whether he can become more of a team player. I think physically he should cope over here, and under a manager like jose, I think he could become a world class player on the same level as hazard.

Prefers to play on the left but I think he is more than capable of playing from the right, and we have that much movement in our front 3 that I don't think it would affect his game.

No ice who we are goi g to get but despite likely winning the premier league by a big margin I think the team is a name or two short of the real deal.

Other than hazard and costa, when fit, we seem to have very few goal scorers. Neither Oscar nor Willian get many and fabregas fewer than I expected.

Matic next to none and Terry, Dave and Cahill hardly a coup,e between them. Ivan is generally good for a few but it's not enough.

We really need Oscar or whoever has his and Willians spot to deliver quite a bit more.

He's definitely the best player in the Dutch league, though big imports from the Netherlands tend to be either big hits (Suarez, Robben, RVP) or big misses (Altidore, Afonso Alves). So it is hard to tell. He has the strength and also the character to succeed in England and has done well at the WC and in the Europa League which suggests he might do well here. I agree with the guy who said he is around the same level that Hazard was at Lille, though the defenders are much better in France and though a better goal scorer than Hazard has really ever been, Depay has not got the dribbling skills nor the pace that Hazard had, though he is pretty rapid,

On Redcafe it is being taken that the deal is pretty much already done. To be honest, I cannot really see anyone beating us to him, if we match the club's price for him (probably €25-30 million). He supposedly sees LVG as a father figure of sorts.

What do people think of that kid Greleish at Villa? He looked good yesterday.

He's on our radar apparently (scouts have watched him and along with other clubs made a speculative enquiry before he signed a new contract).

Looks a decent prospect, hope he commits to playing for England.

Depay confirmed - huge signing for United - genuinely worried about the impact he could have on the prem next season. As Brixtac said, he loves LvG and has proven himself so far.

Repost from another thread:

I genuinely think Depay could push on and become a top, top player. At 22m considering his potential, successful world cup, and by far the best player in the Dutch league I think they've done really well to get him at that price.

He's an athletic/strong type of forward that will get on the end of anything with his pace and has a monster shot. I liken him more to Ronaldo than the likes of Hazard - but obviously no where near that level of quality yet!

I wanted us to sign him - but i'd take Isco instead.

I don't see it as huge at all.

He's unproven and imports from Holland seem very much hit or miss.

He's hardly Hazard.

Robben? Strikers yes but wingers are more hit than miss.

30 goals is not to be sniffed at and even if he fails, you can always move him on at a small loss.

babel?

Babel was never really good to be fair. But we have seen enough examples in the past to take goal scoring exploits in the Eredivisie with a bit of skepticism. For instance, the Eredivisie top scorer last season with 29 goals, has managed all of 2 goals in La Liga this season.

Depay has potential sure, but I wouldn't be worried at all about missing out on him.

Most who fail after coming from the Eresdivisie ate typical poachers with not much else to their game, Babel never looked a qualiy footballer and his failings doesnt in any way affect how teams view Depay.. Quality will always shine through. Depay has great ball control, power and a very good football IQ I have no doubt he will be a hit for Utd. Ive always thought the notion that since player a comes from a certain league, chances are he wont be good here is BS. Good players are good players regardless of were they come from. Talent when combined with effort will always prove a success. Its when you confuse success in a league with talent you are headed for failure.

Well said

Apparently weve made an offer for godin from atletico, Luis going as part of it. Would be very happy with that.

While I am happy that we're getting probably the number 1 CB in the world right now, it seems bad for our youth respects like Zouma etc..

Don't think we're too much in need for Godin. Unlikely we'd get two players from Atletico and would rather get Griezmann.

1) Griezmann

2) A midfield who can play B2B / DM to a good level. Maybe Schneiderlin would be good.

3) If Luis is used as part of the deal, then a left back. I'd take Gaya from Valencia.

4) If Bamford isn't used as a 3rd choice striker, Ings from Burnley.

thats pretty much my window,im not too keen on Ings though

Godin wouldn't make sense. Buying a 30 year old at what is likely his peak value when we have a top young CB? No thanks.

I understand it wouldn't make much sense, but he is the no.1 CB in the world right now I'd say

3 and 4 I disagree with. Gaya deal would be bad, would rather use someone we have out on loan.

Also dear god, Ings over Bamford would be stupid
