Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea .... Done!

Featured Replies

Willian always played a more central role at his old club, did he not? I think that is definitely where he's better suited, although he seems to be a azpi type player who will work hard in any position you put him in. I just think cuadrado is probably more likely to take up a spot on the right and we'll rotate willian with oscar in the central role behind the striker. That is just an assumption, though I may be entirely wrong.

Left winger, cutting in, or central for Shakhtar, I believe. Oscar trumps Willian in that (most unlikely) hypothetical 3-4-3 for me though as one of the two inside forwarda behind Costa.

But I agree with what you're saying. I think that's most likely to happen as well

Has this actually been confirmed yet? I want the obligatory pic with the chelsea shirt on! Will he make an appearance today at some point?

There was a rumour doing the rounds that he could play today.

No idea if you need to officially announce a transfer first?

Seems unlikely he'll be anywhere near the team today, apparently wasn't due to complete a medical until this morning.

Won't feature today, wasn't enough time for him to be registered for the match, but otherwise still think Jose wouldn't put him in, maybe on bench...

Btw. in London

Having not read the previous 26 pages, is there someone that has watched a lot of this guy that can attest to how good he is?

It's pretty much all guesswork from 95% of the people that have posted in here, you've saved yourself some time. Watched the odd Fiorentina game and the World Cup and he looks a really good player, he works hard, he's skillful, he can finish and he can assist.

In the same boat, Watched the odd few Fiorentina games, He does at times look quality but other times looks dreadful. Seems very inconsistent

So basically Willian then.

Not really, because when willian is consistent he might get the odd shot on target and his passes find their man, but on his inconsistent days he cant' shoot for sh*t and his passes are dreadful. I think even on an inconsistent day cuadrado will end up contributing much more to the team.

Naturally a wide right player unlike Willian, so that's good. I'm expecting to see a player that's more direct, trickier, taller, more likely to go past players, more likely concede posession too. Also, won't be surprised if he frustrates somewhat with his decision making.

Still, a natural wideman. Good enough to for me to get excited about. Too many inverted forwards around these days...

Not to rain on the parade but I'm not getting my hopes up over Cuadrado, he is good but not great.

I agree, but with us he can become great.

Yeah cheers mate. When Chelsea pay 25 million quid for someone who's played in a world cup but it doesn't work out i'll think they should have listened to Scott. You must elaborate on he's good but not great that's a real insight

You know when other personalities in the game like Thierry Henry, Micah Richards & Pocchetino are all randomly saying what a quality signing he will be for Chelsea then there must be something good about the guy, all i've seen of him is the world cup and some highlight packages on youtube and as far as i can see he looks the business!!

No. I've posted the stats earlier.

From season 12/13 onwards:

All competitions- 106 app, 26 goals, 21 assists

League alone- 85 app, 20 goals, 18 assists

From season 13/14 onwards

All competitions- 66 app, 21 goals, 14 assists

League alone- 49 app, 15 goals, 11 assists

Also, while Serie A might be a weaker league, the average goals per game has been less than the premier league for each of the last 5 seasons.

Since 13/14:

Fiorentina avg goals/ league game - 1.603

Chelsea avg goals/ league game - 2.03

Cuadrado goal/assist every 148.65 mins

Willian goal/assist every 264.35 mins

Schurrle goal/assist every 176.76 mins

Now here's a video if that helps. Its the best one I've seen.

Set in stone now without a shadow of a doubt.

He's our player.

He's got some time to bed in before the away tie at Villa Park, a place that has never been a happy hunting ground for Chelsea.
