Chelsea vs PSG (Champions League Second Leg) 11/03/2015

Featured Replies

hazard lost the ball with 15mins left on the wing and didn't even chase back for the ball, like neville said 60mins left and people are standing off players and strolling about. WTF

that's just not on!

Hazard wasn't brilliant tonight but he was still our best player by far. Rarely lost the ball compared to his team-mates. Made some good runs - always looking for the return pass. No one else offered anything.

Dismal showing tonight. Just not at the races. Poor displays throughout the team. PSG are a very good side, as they showed in both legs, but we were way off the pace.

Not surprised to see us go out, sadly. We look a tired team.

Still no analysis on Sky of the Luiz off-the-ball swing on Costa. I've seen a Vine that looks damning.

Congrats to Needle and any other PSG fan reading this. Your side worked their socks off and deserved it, no doubt in my mind. Try and take it with a little grace.

The players who were misplacing passes, Oscar, Ramires, Willian, Matic, Costa . . .are all his players (players he has put his faith in). They are workhorses. He knows fully well they arent good passers of the ball.

I disagreed with some of his transfer decisions. He let go of our flair players like de bruyne and mata so willian and oscar could stay. Now we cant control the midfield against a decent side

Those players play decent passes any other time so why but tonight? They're to blame.

So sick of hearing about De Bruyne he wasn't good enough and he wanted to leave.

I think we are in dire need of a central attacking mid, Oscar ain't that guy just now.

Ramires, Willian, Cuardrado? And that's about it.

We have no goals in our midfield bar hazard

Too late. Needle was being a massive twat at FT.

f**k needle

PSG are a filthy side who I hope get mauled by whoever they face next

Oh well sh*t happens, no good crying over spilled milk...we have an EPL title to win.   Just can't understand why this team can't get their act together after a long rest though.

We miss a young Frank Lampard simple as, worst thing is there ain't any like him about anymore.

Yeah, we are top of the league and we are probably going to win it. We are in a good position. I just feel that a team with players like cesc and hazard should be capable of much more

We wouldn't have more control with De Bruyne or Mata, we need better central midfield options for that and not attacking midfielders. I'd like us to play 4-3-3 against top sides, with a couple of new world class central midfielders next to Matic. Sell Ramires, Mikel and maybe Oscar to fund it.

Outclassed home and away. Didn't deserve to go through at all.

Should've got beaten in the first leg as well.

You could see there was something seriously wrong. Players lookedsi casual you have to think Jose got something seriously wrong preparing them mentally.

I'm just gutted, reason we lost the game is because we didn't go at them. They deserve to go though but we are the better side. That's what unnerves me. David luiz deserves credit too. Jsst saying it how it is. I'm gutted.

de bruyne looked alright to me when i see him play!

Makes the decision to make the squad even smaller in January all the more peculiar, especially when we're not even calling on our £27m new signing and instead looking to a 37 year old to change the game.

given how few minutes salah got I don't think that particular bit of business is the problem, but for sure you'd hope cuadrado would be better on the right than ramires or costa.

we look like a side built to press but lacking the legs to do it.

today we seem to have tried to press in the first 15 minutes, realised that only oscar, costa and ramires were capable in the front 6 and then attempted to play on the counter in a cagey, passive way.

next season hopefully the squad has less of a gap in quality and trust between the first and second 11, so we can rotate a little more. not really sure how we can improve this season. rest days between games and killing teams off in the first half I guess.

also there's a theory that in trying to change the style of football and incorporate fabregas in a deep position jose had to play the same team week in, week out to get them fluid and functioning. I think that lack of rotation helped us then but I feel sure it is hurting us now. not least because we've got a lot of players who perhaps know / feel they aren't trusted fully.

anyway, not the end of the world. this season has always been about the league.

They had the 10 men right?

Just a bad performance. Always said I'd be happy with winning the league this season so focus on that.

Oh and David Luiz showed just why frank is a legend.

I cannot imagine how we can go up twice against a team that lost their star player early in the game and still give it up.

A bunch of wasted energy from Costa's part starting trouble which I usually enjoy and support but today it was just pointless. He needs to learn a lesson from this.

I cannot imagine how we can let them dominate possession with 10 men like we did in large parts of the second half. I know it's Mourinho's way, but in the 60th minute, really?

In all I cannot imagine what on earth happened on that pitch tonight. Were we that bad or were they that good?

I was not even this disappointed when we fell out of the group stages in 2013, in my opinion tonight was even more humiliating.

I love you Jose but tonight was an embarrasment and I put the blame on your tactics or the lack of them.

I am aware these matchday threads are full of idiots so don't get me wrong, I still love him and overall he is still a great coach. But tonight he was badly wrong and we paid the price for it.

Onwards and upwards!

Flowers need water to grow, it needs to rain!

Funnily enough the season is more than just one game and Oscar has been terrible for 90% of it.

Pure bollox. Oscar is statistically our 5th best player this season, and before I bothered looking that up and working it out, that was about were I placed him. We clearly are better when he plays and is allowed to rotate with Cesc throughout the 90. Pretty much any good football we've played this season has involved exchanges between Oscar, Cesc, and Hazard.

I think we are in dire need of a central attacking mid, Oscar ain't that guy just now.

Ramires, Willian, Cuardrado? And that's about it.

We had one - a REALLY f**king good one at that. Mata should never have been sold. Jose let Mata go because he wasn't quick enough, couldn't tackle and wouldn't track back often enough. He then signs Fabregas, someone who has all of the same flaws. Doesn't make sense to me.

We should sell Ramires and either Oscar or Willian, and try to sign Pogba. Play Matic and Pogba centre mid, then push Cesc into the number 10 slot IMO.

Full of sh*t pundits are. Let's not take any notice of them. We weren't hard done by in this game so I'm not bitter at all. We were outplayed, outclassed and outstrengthed by PSG.

Outplayed and outstrengthened I agree but not outclassed. They weren't particularly spectacular. Jose and his boys made them look good. Don't understand why you bring on The Drog and don't get the team to play to his aerial strength. No balls looking for his head when he was in good positions in the box. Instead messrs Fabregas,Hazard,Ivanovic and Willian kept trying their intricate passes in slow motion that hasn't worked in like 10 games now.
