July 22, 201510 yr You could just as easily say, tell that to Harry Kane, but I do see where you're coming from. I'd be surprised to see him line up for us, delighted but surprised! Who knows maybe next season he just mightTrue. I would love to see him tear up the prem with palace then return to us.
July 22, 201510 yr Lukaku was a failure off the pitch. I think sulking his way into Jose's office and saying he wanted to start or be sold is what did him in. Bamford seems to realize he has to earn it and doesnt expect to be first choice That's exactly why I think he'll be a top player in the game. It's why I think Harry Kane will continue to do well he's got his head screwed on right. Lukaku didn't and that's why he's struggling now, he seems to think everything should just be handed to him, rather than having to earn it.
July 22, 201510 yr I just hope he receives enough playing time. Even at Middlesbrough he was played almost every game, even if it was in a different position.
July 22, 201510 yr Author Hope he has a smashing season and we bring him back. Would be ncie to have an upcoming great English striker in our team.
July 22, 201510 yr One of my mates is a Palace fan. He's happy they've signed Bamford but he still wants them to bring in a top level striker. Right now they have Campbell, Gayle, Murray and Chamakh. Considering they've typically played with one up front I would say Bamford has his work cut out getting game time at the moment, I would say he is behind Murray and Gayle right now.

He could be a one season wonder. Straight from youth, whereas bamford has plied his trade in the championship and proved he can score goals at that level season after season, so this is the next step. The thing is, he won't be the target man for palace so hopefully that will relieve some of the pressure off him.

Who plays RW for them? They could end up playing him in that position due to having played there quite a bit for boro.
July 22, 201510 yr I think Newcastle would have been a better move in all honesty as I didn't realise palace had so many strikers.
July 22, 201510 yr Who plays RW for them? They could end up playing him in that position due to having played there quite a bit for boro. Isn't it Bolasie on the right wing? They've got Bolasie, Zaha and Puncheon for the wings so again there's plenty of competition.

July 22, 201510 yr Why would you be surprised? He scores wherever he scores wherever he goes I would be surprised because we don't have a great track record with youths becoming regular starters. Not trying to be negative but it's a fact. Hopefully the next few seasons will buck the trend so to speak.
July 22, 201510 yr I think Gayle and a purple hitting patch Murray are only ahead of him. I actually think he will get decent game time there. If he does it will be as a striker, he won't get in ahead of Bolasie or Puncheon on either flank, or Zaha either.
July 22, 201510 yr I doubt the club would have let him go there without some sort of 'nod' that he would get sufficient game time, otherwise what would be the point of the loan for either us or him ?

July 22, 201510 yr Yes, fair point, but there does come a time when you learn.... And i don't see us as being daft enough to let Bamfords career go backwards..Although i suppose only time will tell.
July 30, 201510 yr Damn looks like Palace are getting Wickham not sure what that means for Bamford but its more competition that's for sure.
July 30, 201510 yr Wow, did he really score a hattrick!? Couldn't find the game, but I read the comments and felt fantastic. Good start for him, even if it's pre-season. Can't wait to see him in PL games, a lot of hope on this lad.

July 31, 201510 yr Yeah he got a few goals last night but to be fair it was against Bromley FC. Not exactly playing against Man City or someone like that
