Patrick Bamford - Back at Chelsea?

Featured Replies

You've named players who deserve praise for their performances, but they are doing it at clubs with nowhere near the level of pressure or expectation you face at chelsea...

I wonder if a relegation dog fight manager would say the same thing about clubs at the top not knowing about pressure.....

HE may take Remy's spot on the bench?

We are the only team this year where there are more transfers that are aimed at filling bench spots that cant play than the first 11.

Still nowhere near the same as chelsea...just look at how all our players, who are internationals worth millions, have crumbled under the scrutiny this season...

By the way, I don't want people to think I'm saying we shouldn't give youth a chance...I think Loftus-cheek is the real deal and should have played a lot more this season...I'm just not convinced Bamford is good enough and was always bought as an investment to sell, rather than with any real intent to play him and the way his career is panning out suggests that's the case

How do you mean, Palace is the first time in his career that a loan hasn't been a success.

He's not far off having a career average of a goal every two games.

Palace were trying to sell Dwight Gale in the summer but it fell through at the last minute which has caused Bamford's opportunities to be limited because clubs will generally favour players they own rather than loan players.

If he came back here to replace Falcao until the end of the season I personally think he could hold his own but the rumoured loan to Swansea could also be good for him.

I mean like with a number of our youth players, he is being loaned out time and time again without getting a sniff of playing for us...failing to make an impact at palace, however harsh people think he was treated, will hardly make the powers that be at chelsea change their mind...

Why would he? Shouldn't Bertrand Traore be ahead of him in the pecking order?

my point was very tongue in cheek.

And fro the record, both Traore and Bamford are way behind Remy in terms of pecking order, and Remy can't get a game for love nor money.

I'd keep hold of him, Falcao and Remy are too injury prone to be relied upon.

Might as well try to make some good of Bamford being able to return to the club, what's the worst that could happen?

Cant see him being involved much here either tbh

I didn't even know he had a login.

He is 22 years old. It's now or never for him IMO.

I think he has everything he needs to make it here, he just needs the chance. I can't say it enough, Harry Kane wouldn't have made  a blip had Soldardo not been such a massive flop. He's probably be playing Championship football right now. A year ago no one knew who Vardy was, now every one wants him. Time and trust, bamford has proved he's got goals in him, the question is can he do it at the top top level. We will only get that answer once he is given a run of games with the same team mates to prove it. For me it's worth the gamble, especially this season when you think it could save you 30 + million pounds if it works out.

It would a decent move to keep him here. He'd probably do no worse than RF?

In my view there's no point in spending a whole heap of money on another striker at the moment - We've an interim manager, we don't know who will get the job beyond this season. If we buy someone, the next guy through the revolving door might not fancy him. We're probably not going to be relegated, so why not give him a shot at the title.

Remy can't stay consistently fit/can't get on the pitch.

Give him the gig, starting on Sunday for me.

I would keep him and sell Remy. We are stuck with falcao and we know it. Having bamford here will at least be no worse than having the 2 ghosts backing up Costa.

If bamford does not work out least we know we gave him a shot.

We're only stuck with Falcao til the end of the season so I think it would be short-sighted to get rid of Remy yet.  But I agree, we should give Bamford a good go - or Traore.
