Patrick Bamford - Back at Chelsea?

Featured Replies

I'll be delighted if he got chances, even though I'm skeptical of his ability to make it here.

Let's hope he does impress, if he doesn,t then we will be unable to loan him out again and he'll be stuck here for the rest of the season not playing very often. A year of his career would be wasted.

He's a tidy finisher, but what I really like is his movement. He gets into great positions to score.

Plus he did the ear cupping celebration when he scored against Liverpool. Guy is a legend already.

He's not great in all honesty.

Based on what? He's had one full season at a team and he got player of the year in the championship at the age of 20/21

He hasn't had the chance to prove that he is great at a top club and he's still young. Though I'll be honest, Solanke is four years younger than him and he arguably has more potential, Abraham too.

I hope he will see some PL play time unlike at CP.

But there must be something about him / his style or performance at the trading that Padrew didn't like. It makes me wonder.

At this point Bamfordinho is pretty much what he is going to for the rest of his career. He doesnt have the physical tools those two have but in his defense Pippo Inzaghi also wasnt the most gifted player either.

Scoring goals and putting yourself in a position to score them is a skill no matter what league youre playing in. Look at Vardy for example

Side note: anyone else see how dreadful Palaces strikers have been lately? Wickham is the only forward who has scored all season for them. And hes only got 1. How Pardew didnt play Bamfordinho more is shocking

Bamford offers very little else apart from his finishing. It's why Wickham and others was picked ahead of him, they contribute in other aspects that Bamford lacks.

They where picked ahead of him because like many managers Pardew went for he experience. What you say about Bamford comes from some one who hasn't watched him much. He was regularly put out on the wing for Derby and Bouroug. A good friend of mine is a derby season ticket holder and he rates bamford as a hell of a player, not just a finisher. I'm going to guess he has seen much more of Bamford play then any of us

Naturally but if he could offer the same things Wickham could he would have been given a fairer crack.

I've seen him play a good amount of times, not as much as a Boro fan would have last season but what I've seen said from their fans goes along with my view that he's a good finisher and gets into good positions but struggles when played as a lone striker/target man, not through lack of effort, he seems to work hard, just through lack of genuine ability. First touch and passing aren't good enough yet for him to lead the line himself, probably why he was out on the wing.

Apparently we have terminated Falcao's loan. Good news for Bamford.

No official statement from the club yet, but that would be good news for Bamford AND Chelsea. It's no good having a player in the squad who spends most of his time recovering from injuries.

DOn't Falcao and Jose have the same agent too?

Yep ....hence the deal ....I still think we did this to keep the agent happy and make sure we had first option on players he does or will look after in the future .

Exactly my thoughts, mate.  I think now that Jose's gone, the club are looking at Radamel and thinking "pfft, what we paying this guy again??"

Monaco saying hes going to be injured for upto another 8 weeks and its not in there plans to take him back ?

Where do we stand on this

I saw bamford more than once for borough and hes a good finisher who seems to have the knack of making the right run etc

Stick him on the bench and bring him on

Falcao is the gift that keeps on giving; the loan deal has been a disaster as many suggested. Going forward I will force Falcao's hands to cancel the loan deal by promoting Bamford to the first team, and telling Falcao if he ever gets fit he is relegated to the reserves.

Whilst paying him handsomely for it. Hopefully he won't turn out to be the second coming of Bogarde.

As much as I'll always love Jose, a cloud appears to have been lifted from the club. The corruption within the game is beginning to be exposed like never before, and for what my opinion's worth I feel the age of the agent will be a stain on the game's integrity that'll outlive me.
