Meh,doesnt really make alot of diference

I asked the guys at managing Madrid about griezmann and they said this

He will fit well in mourinho's system. He will thrive. He is direct, he is speedy and his technique is good.

His off the ball movement is good and somehow he is a very good header. With the midfield chelsea has, his impact will be huge.

I assume we have our own team who deal with this, I can’t recall him going over to Spain when we were trying to get Cesc, Costa or Luis….Then again I may have missed it if he did.

 

He definitely flew out to Spain to meet face to face with Fabregas. 

 

Apparently that "personal touch" is part of what convinced him to sign for us as it demonstrated that Jose was personally interested in him. 

Never knew that.

It's been sorted now in any case but I doubt we'd hear anything concrete about this before both Atletico and our own seasons are done.

I thought Marina was our chief face-to-face negotiator, or is that just contract renewals?

That particular story said about him signing for Chelsea because of Mendes. Wouldn't read too much into it.

Going to be a busy summer

Yeah being linked with someone by the Metro or Evening Standard mean nothing, especially if they have no quotes (I haven't found any).

 

Hulk, Falcao, Modric, Aguero, Robinho and even Rooney were closer to coming than what we've heard so far.

 

As above have said, not saying it won't happen but it's not even close to being a done deal.

Rarely see any newspapers carry quotes when they talk transfers to be fair...they all have a get-out clause when it doesn't happen...although i don't dismiss all rumours out of hand...

Actually find the tabloids hardest to believe, while I never take the metro seriously...it's just a summary of what's in previous days news

No way we're paying over 25-30mil for anyone that isn't called Pogba or Bale.

I doubt it would go that far.

£25-35 million would no doubt see him leave like Costa.

Pogba isn't even worth that; too defensively lazy, doesn't do enough off the ball and isn't at all a prolific scorer for a central midfielder. I don't think a central midfielder is worth more than 40 million. The only players who should be worth that much are forwards, the type of players who will guarantee you plenty of goals. I would never expect Matic to go for more than 40 million if i'm honest. I think griezemann is worth that money purely because of where he plays and the amount of goals he can score; goals win you games at the end of the day.

However, that is purely based on his goal scoring proficiency from central midfield, but as for zidane and iniesta, they have different abilities, but most likely they would be priced around that range if they were playing in this day and age, but we're talking about pogba who, at 21/22 years of age is yet to prove he is even half as good as those aforementioned players, let alone a player who can reach those levels. people are banding about the price of 60 million just on potential alone, which is ridiculous.

Zidane was 50 Mill 17 years ago, today he would be 90 easy. I think people have forgotten how good he was, we are talking one of the top 5 players of all time

Hope its true. I would be surprised if we got Koke AND Griezmann to be honest, i think it is far more likely to be one or the other. 

 

Said it before but i'd be more than happy with a shopping list of Green, Cresswell, Schneiderlin and Griezmann, IF it is indeed true that we are looking to offload Cech, Luis and Drogba. 

 

Promote RLC and Bamford. Pretty sure we would be a fair bit stronger with those key additions.
