I can't detect any weakness in City so far - defence looks safe and calm, midfield and attack typically powerful and sharp. Early days but they could run away with it if they keep that form up.

Their next 6 games are Watford, Palace, West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle and Bournemouth - then they go to Old Trafford. I can't see them dropping many points from those games.

That Toure and Fernandinho partnership still looks shaky to me, mainly due to Fernandinho doing most of the work. Toure was poor I thought but he wasn't a complete liability, and they still won, so I guess it's an improvement from last season.

I think that is the weakness. Barkley exposed them a couple of times first half.

Benitez is all wrong for Madrid. I cannot believe they got rid of Carlo and replaced him with fecking rafa. People call José boring, but watch rafa ruin a team that José managed to break records with, and Carlo managed to win the CL with. I will surprised if benitez wins anything this year as both atletico and barca will be on top.

He even did his 70th minute full back for full back substitution. The useless fat knacker.

Hazard, Cesc, and Oscar on form is crucial to making us look solid as well.

We've lost a lot of desire, hunger, and complacency has set in. Basically what happened to City last season and the 12/13 season.

That may also be due to AFCON as we all know Yaya is very important to city him being gone for a month was a factor in poor sections of form in both of those seasons if I remember correctly.

Not sure winning it makes you complacent especially not with Mourinho at the helm but we do look a little lethargic especially Hazard, to me this is more down too poor off season and pre season management not lack of hunger.

Agreed. I noticed in the 82nd minute or so, the players looked labored and out of breath, while West Brom were still on their toes and looked fitter than us. It could be due to fitness that we've looked off the pace.

City start as the favorites and start as we did last season, off to a flyer. Can we catch them where they failed to catch us?

They did catch us though, we were ahead only by alphabetical order after the 5-3 loss to spuds on new years day.

I think it will definitely be us as City. United had only 4 points after three games in the 2007-08 or 2008-09 season (I forget which) and they won the title. I remember they did go on a ridiculous win streak though so if we are to catch them we are gonna have to be good. I really do feel they will win it this year but I definitely think we'll win something.

I just checked, even they had only 2 points after 3 games in 2007-08, and 5 points after 4 games in 2008-09, and somehow they managed to win the league in both season.

Ah that's it, didn't realise it was both seasons they didn't have many points. Just gives us a little but of hope for this season. Despite what people say aswell about the competition been better now (I think that's a load of bollocks tbh).

Looking at all this Oylmpic Stadium stuff with West Ham... can you IMAGINE how hilarious it would be if they were relegated this season...

City always start well, and actually they finished strong both the last two seasons. We are so clearly not up to speed so need to do what ever it takes to keep the pace up, come the turn of the year I expect City to be struggling a bit, (Aguero to be injured) and hopefully that will be the time to go ahead. Where Jose earn't his crust last season was setting us up to get results when we wern't on form. This is somthing Pelegrini (and many managers) are unable to do.
