I think LVG is getting a hard time. While his team isn't spectacular, it is a good team and they have had a lot of rebuilding to do.

Chris Ramsay sacked as QPR boss.

Chris Powell also sacked as Huddersfield boss today.

How long before the lack of black managers/Rooney Rule debate resurfaces?

Hard to argue against either of the sackings

QPR were favourites were favourites to win the Championship. Kept all their big players on bigger contracts who they were expected to sell.. Charlie Austin, Sandro , Leroy Fer, Rob Green,  Hoillet , Matty Phillips

They almost have a premier league team and they are currently 13th in the championship having won one in the last five. In Ramsay's final match he lost the West London derby on friday to Brentford... the first time QPR have lost to Brentford in 50 years...

As for Chris Powell whilst he has done a decent job at Huddersfield in the last few seasons keeping them in the Championship they are 18th in the league and have won 1 in their last 7

It say's a lot about English football when the second best team at the moment get's thrashed 5-1. I know Bayern Munich are a good side but English sides shouldn't be getting destroyed in Europe. We have fallen too far behind in recent years.

Arsenal is always a couple of injuries away from a bad loss ( or 2), I'm surprised they maintained the winning streak in the league recently. Once the first goal was in, they knew they are going to be hammered. It's one thing to sit back and define,d completely a different matter when you need to push forward and score. Maybe they should have sit on the 0:1, like BR did with liverpool last season in an away game.

I bet sol Campbell has made sure his mobile is fully charged today.

err barca aren't exactly destroying everything right now, they already have lost twice in la liga and drew against a segunda division B team

Messi is absolutely critical to their success for the most part, so when he's back i expect them to challenge hard. Bayern will win the CL this year if they keep their players fit.

Well it took less than 12 hours:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34730265

"The sackings of Chris Powell and Chris Ramsey were "disheartening", says anti-racism campaigner Troy Townsend."

""People will look and think 'Is it worth it? Is it because of the colour of their skin? Or is it because they are bad managers?'

"I know people will say results are not right but there is a lot more to it than that."

I'm sorry but surely these sorts of comments do the cause more harm than good?

QPR with a very expensively assembled squad with the likes Fer and Austin should not be sitting 13th in the Championship with just 2 wins from their last 10 games.

QPR owner Tony Fernandez is of Malaysian decent and has Les Ferdinand as the club's director of football and obviously gave Chris Ramsey a chance in the first place.

For Townsend to even suggest his sacking has anything to do with the colour of his skin does a massive disservice to QPR.

Townsend says "People will look and think 'Is it worth it?". Well guess what, if club's are going to get this level of scrutiny and criticism ever for hiring black coaches other clubs are going to think twice before doing so because they'll ask themselves "is it worth it?"

Unbelievable. Like you say, it's doing more harm than good for black coaches. People are going to stop taking these anti racism people seriously if they keep moaning everytime a black manager is sacked. The fact is, both managers weren't doing good enough so they were sacked, it's no different than what happens with white managers.

The problem is, lower league clubs have this entitlement that they feel they should be able to maintain a higher position in the table, attract very good players and managers, but they need to realise the good players and managers won't go to their clubs so they have to settle for lower level managers.

From the same article speaks the voice of reason, none other than our very own Frank Sinclair:

"They [Powell and Ramsey] are both terrific lads who have given me advice in the past, and you're disappointed that they lost their jobs, but you've got to be realistic," he told BBC Radio Northampton.

"To make a statement that more or less says 'is it because of their colour that they've been sacked?' is something that I had to make a response to because I totally disagree.

"It can be damaging. I don't question a chairman's integrity.

"I've been very close to getting a couple of jobs recently, and out of 35-40 applicants, I've got to the final two twice. There's encouragement that if I keep doing the right things, then I'll get the opportunity to manage at the level that I want to.

"[Townsend's comments] are damaging. People could read that and think: 'If I take on a black manager is he going to turn around if it doesn't go well and say 'the reason I got sacked is because of the colour of my skin'?

"That is out of order and you can't have statements made like that."

You have those who eliminate every logical choice before claiming racism

and you have those who look to find any possible excuse to justify claims of racism.

and if you have a professional poisition that depends on racism to stay relevant (and employed), which of those two do you think they are likely to be?

edit:  Kind of like sexist Chelsea because of the Eva thing..... conveniently ignoring the fact ( I think ) that Chelsea are the only BPL club to have a woman in a position of prominence on game days.  The only other women as prominent I can think of are: Karen Brady (Chairman, hence why i went with game day prominence), Sian Massey (seemed the most competent official in ages, where has she gone?) and that drunk lady at Norwich (LOL).

Good on Frank. His comments weren't on the article this morning when I first posted.

Glad to see a voice of reason and showing that Townsend's opinions aren't reflective of all black managers.

I'm quickly finding that Charlie Nicholas is the worst pundit on TV, just something about him really annoys me. Plus his inability to hide to his Arsenal bias or to even remain professional when it comes to his former club.
