February 4, 201610 yr Lot more money to be made coaching so people who can do it, do it. But doing post mortems and theorising is a lot easier than actually going out and doing it. Edited February 4, 201610 yr by Stim
February 4, 201610 yr Gary Neville needs to be sacked, surely? He has all the managerial nous of Sam Allardyce on valium
February 4, 201610 yr Love the rumour on the radio this morning that Man Utd might plan a £144m bid for Neymar. Be brilliant if they signed Neymar and then Mourinho goes there in the summmer. Their £144M record signing promptly gets dropped for not tracking back!!! If it were true, I can't see Barca accepting. Neymar is probably the best player in his position, in the world right now (except Ronaldo) and he is very young. His potential is ridiculous.
February 4, 201610 yr That seems to be a common view Robdog; we are interesting but not necessarily cool. Linking to Zola's posts about China, Italian football is the big thing there too. English football is a niche interest. I'd hate to have only Italian football to watch... From what I've heard English football seems to be all the rage in most Asian countries, and probably so in the US too.
February 4, 201610 yr Well, damn. Serious chance that Leicester might actually win the league. It'd be great if they did, they're a great side and I can say that they are the neutral's choice. It's getting to the point where it's a real possibility, with 14 games to go. A lot of football to be played but of course I'd love for them to take it.
February 4, 201610 yr Decent Jonathan Wilson article which attempts to refute the oft-repeated but nonsensical argument that Guardiola only takes easy jobs: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2611777-its-ridiculous-to-claim-pep-guardiolas-manchester-city-move-is-the-easy-option
February 4, 201610 yr Mustafi, The defender for Valencia who got sent off said after the game 'The dressing room is in the sh-its', Ex Valencia goalkeeper Canizares has told Neville he should resign and they are away at relegation threatened Real Betis this weekend, Where nothing but a win will do, Just checked the odds for that game as we speak and Betis are favorites, Wow, Didn't expect it to go this bad for him.
February 4, 201610 yr talking about betis, anyone know if musonda will get a game? be a bit of a bitch if he puts the nail in the coffin for neville on his debut.
February 4, 201610 yr Is anyone sure this wasn't actually said to his own players about the title race?! TBH it's still le voyeur's fault.....He should have picked the correct team to begin with - in the past decade his strategies are always questionable
I think the rumour was that they made said bid last summer.
February 4, 201610 yr so strong rumours from a apparently reliable source that mourinho has agreed to join man utd next season; should be interesting. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/mourinho-has-signed-man-united-agreement-sources-in-portugal-stat Edited February 4, 201610 yr by enigma
February 4, 201610 yr i thought united only hired managers for the long term? and that mourinho plays anti football that they abhor
February 4, 201610 yr Man Utd to close Old Trafford tier for Europa League tie due to lack of demand http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/12141437/Manchester-United-to-close-Old-Trafford-tier-for-Europa-League-tie-due-to-lack-of-demand.html Thursday, Thursday Sunday!
February 4, 201610 yr i thought united only hired managers for the long term? and that mourinho plays anti football that they abhor it is quite funny how many of their fans are now for mourinho, but only a couple months ago they were dead against him. it just shows you how fans views change when their club is in a bad (by their standards anyway) situation. from a selfish pov i would have preferred him go to psg or elsewhere, but it is what it is. February 4, 201610 yr Interesting article comparing Atletico's title winning side and the current Leicester side: http://twentyminutereads.com/2016/02/04/secrets-of-the-italian-4-4-2/
February 4, 201610 yr Reports from the Spanish press tonight that Mourinho has signed an agreement to become United manager, United have seen our Pep Guardiola and want to raise that with a Jose Mourinho, What interesting stuff that could be next year.
February 4, 201610 yr Imagine if Leicester needed a point against us to win the title on the last day and we beat them. We would solidify our status as the most hated side in the league. Not only that, but if Arsenal crept in and won it. Hell, I would take a loss just to see Claude self destruct.
February 4, 201610 yr if us losing on the last day of the season meant Leicester winning it \ arsenal blowing it, i would gladly see us lose, as long as we were safe of course.
February 4, 201610 yr Im sure some have heard about it, but Pool fans are planning a walkout during the 77th minute to protest ticket prices. I for one have a hard time imagining they'll actually do it
February 4, 201610 yr if us losing on the last day of the season meant Leicester winning it \ arsenal blowing it, i would gladly see us lose, as long as we were safe of course. I'm not sure I'd ever forgive myself but I'm tempted to agree. Bear in mind that I live in Leicester though so it would set up what would likely be the greatest party I have ever attended in my life, hopefully encompassing the whole city. Jamie Vardy's 'avin' a party (etc.)
February 5, 201610 yr if us losing on the last day of the season meant Leicester winning it \ arsenal blowing it, i would gladly see us lose, as long as we were safe of course. I could live with that, I'm sure the FA will charge us for not putting up a good effort on the day and put the game in dispute.
February 5, 201610 yr I could live with that, I'm sure the FA will charge us for not putting up a good effort on the day and put the game in dispute. and Hiddink would obtain Legend status if he came out and said "Yup, threw it so Arsenal wouldn't win the title. We'll pay the fine with a smile."
February 5, 201610 yr I remember Everton doing the same against Man City (so Liverpool wouldn't win the title) a couple of seasons ago. Very surreal game.
February 5, 201610 yr Im sure some have heard about it, but Pool fans are planning a walkout during the 77th minute to protest ticket prices. I for one have a hard time imagining they'll actually do it Not only that but how futile is it? They already have your money!
February 5, 201610 yr Not only that but how futile is it? They already have your money! Exactly. You want to protest, hit them in the pocket. Pick a game and dont buy tickets for it. See how they like a half empty stadium.
