May 16, 201610 yr The Championship playoffs are great to watch as a neutral. So tense, more at stake for the clubs and players than any game in the sport. With the rise of the big money in the PL, it's unfortunate that the lower leagues have become ignored. There is some good earnest competition without the spoiled prima donnas that flood the PL.
May 16, 201610 yr Lovely scenes from Wilkinson's testimonial at Stoke. Even had a pitch invasion. That's how you say goodbye to a club legend.
May 16, 201610 yr If Milner starts, i'm going to lose it. He hasn't had one great game in an England shirt yet and every single tournament game he has played in, he has been dreadful. How can someone who plays so poor continue to get games ? It's almost like us playing Ivanovic at RB no matter how bad he plays, the only difference is that Ivanovic will at least put in a good performance now and again. Agreed Scott, i'm no fan of Milner either tbh BUT there's no denying his performances for Liverpool this year. Personally I don't think it's any coincidence that Milner's dreadful performances for England as you say have coincided with him playing at right wing. Klopp uses him differently (on the right side of a diamond, sometimes rotating with Lallana). Milner has 11 assists in 2016 so far. Henderson would never be in danger of reaching that number even without an injury and for me Drinkwater is an unknown quantity at international level. I'd be happy to see Milner start, but only if Clyne plays at RB and Hodgson gives him the same role as he does for his club side. Edited May 16, 201610 yr by the special one
May 16, 201610 yr Milner gets picked because he's safe, he'll do a job but he won't do much else. Very much a Mikel type IMO.
May 16, 201610 yr lololol this very funny for me cause I got in a lil pissing match w/ a spud fan on a homebrewing forum - he was saying how lame it is the park the bus & only sides that don't have talent use this tatic - I mentioned why go forward when you are ahead in a match/aggregate - then I pulled an ahole move about being European Champs & just being happy to participate in the competition - I guess I hit a nerve & now he is ignoring me ;) Edited May 16, 201610 yr by robdog

May 17, 201610 yr 'If you won it last year, what does it mean? If you won it two years ago, what does it mean? Nothing...' Oh dear, Jurgen Klopp doesn't appear to understand the prime importance of 'istoree on Merseyside. He was talking about Sevilla, to be fair... Edited May 17, 201610 yr by Charles Ryder

May 18, 201610 yr Prepare yourself for inevitable Liverpool-Europe-special gushing media w**kfest in 3, 2, 1... She is not amused. Neither will some of us be if LFC win and get hyped to death.Edit. I think they can win, too. Edited May 18, 201610 yr by Spudulike
May 18, 201610 yr Sevilla are a quality side, I would be surprised if liverpool beat em.Same.All the talk is of Liverpool winning another European trophy but Sevilla are going for their third Europa title in the last few seasons...they are very strong in this competition. May 18, 201610 yr Sevilla have a great record in Europa but that league form was poor - only finished 7th and lost 14 so the dippers will certainly fancy their chances. Now Gerrard is no more and they have Klopp who I really do like, I'm worried that if I watch the game, I might start wanting a Liverpool win. So I think I'll have to busy myself with something else - cheer on AFC Wimbledon against Accrington perhaps.
May 18, 201610 yr I didn't mind Klopp before he joined them but I didn't watch/see him much back then. I find him a cringe merchant/joke figure, he prances up and down the touchline fist pumping...screaming...anything to draw attention to himself and away from the game. A perfect replacement for Gerrard for me, I'll never long for a Liverpool win...ever.

I honestly think that if Liverpool hadn't sacked Rodgers when they did and we had sacked Jose earlier, we would have got Klopp and I kinda regret that didn't happen. I know he can be a bit OTT at times but I think he's exactly what we needed and it's worrying that he could turn the dippers into contenders.
May 18, 201610 yr Nah i don't see Klopp has a TOP manager. He's very good but not one who will win your title after title. He's in the second bracket below Pep, Carlo, Jose etc.

He’s done well in the cups and Europe but in the league has he been any better than Rodgers? I don’t think he’s pulled up any tree’s tbh. Of course he will get money to spend on his own team but there are better managers in the league and I rate Conte above him too, I’d have taken him too but I didn’t really watch much of Dortmund so didn’t know what his personality was like. He’s probably someone you would love if he was your own but to outsiders he looks like a massive bell end. He's the perfect manager for Liverpool because he comes across as self important, attention seeking and a media darling. They will be challenging for top 4 but the likes of Arsenal, City, Spuds and even United are well ahead of them just now IMO. They will have to spend big money next season like us to get back in the mix.

I'd sing Ferry Cross The Mersey backwards for that.

May 18, 201610 yr I know this is probably very obvious, but the amount of talent Spain have in their midfield is completely outrageous. I'm not sure a single England midfielder would make it in there.
