Is it too early to be depressed that we won't sign a starter?

Every day that ticks by makes me more convinced that loftus cheek is going to play and play a lot next season. That excites me because I think he's ready.

Having said that, if we are in the market I hope we do the business asap.

Anyway I think there are areas of the squad where we can make big internal improvements. Rlc as I say, cuadrado surely and hopefully Oscar too.

There is precedent for small moves in the market being enough to kick on.

To everyone that's worried about our lack of signings and our rivals signing players

We have one of the best GKs in the League - Courtois

The two best fullbacks in the League - Azpi and Ivanovic

The best CB - Terry

The best DM - Matic

One of the best CM in the League - Fabregas

One of the best strikers in the League - Costa

And...the best player in the League - Hazard

Oh yeah...We also have the best manager in football - Mourinho

Just thought I would remind everyone of the ridiculous amount of talent in our team

I was thinking the same regarding RLC...we haven't really been linked strongly to any DM/CM this summer and if you take RLC out of the picture it would be a position we would need to strengthen

If Mourinho is willing to play Zouma in DM in the big games I see no reason why he wouldn't be willing to play RLC. A 3 man midfield of Matic, RLC and Fabregas is a very strong midfield

Maybe it's not as important to have a new starter signed but to have come up with something new in the way we approach the game. If we bring nothing new, we'll be easily frustrated because everyone knows how and through who we did our attacking last season.

I'd have liked an option beside Matic to allow Fab to move forward / or will we see Costa and Falcao in a pair up front? - that seems unlikely but Jose must be working on something....

As champions you have to remember we aren't playing catch up like everyone else.

We don't have to rush our business. We have dealt with the priority that was to secure replacements for the outgoing Cech and Drogba. Now that's done we can focus on possibly bringing in one or two players to provide better competition.

Whoever comes in doesn't need to be thrust straight into the starting XI because our starting XI is already better than anyone else's.

I want to see Bertrand Traore in our squad next season but I think Jose will loan him once again to a better team and better league. I won't be against that because it would be a big test for him to prove that he deserves to play in high level with excellent players, once he joining the squad he has to be ready well.

We need our loanees to go to Prem clubs. Two reasons: easier for us to follow them as fans and making them ready to wear the blue shirt.

We've done some okay business so far. I think we will buy one or two good names still: midfielder and an attacking midfielder/winger.

So basically all our competitors are strengthening their squad, while we are just filling our bench with Falcao and Begovic.

I would be fine with it if our starting 11 was already spectacular, but it definitely is not. The most obvious thing is our AM where we really need a big name to come in. Whether that's Griezman, Pedro, Bale, ... doesn't matter but we need someone. And since our pre season is getting underway, we might want to hurry it up a little.

I've been getting used to Mourinho doing his business fast so this is a bit of a disappointment.

Me too. If not the premier league at least Serie A so another top league.

2 more signings and I think we are right up there, Isco/Pedro maybe a backup centre back, we don't need an overhaul just a couple of starter players to improve the squad.

^ Can't get my head around why Willian is so highly rated on this forum, fans must be using a weird metric for judging him. I have heard words like "secondary assists" and "assist assister"; what is certain is he had 4goals 5 assists in 47 games last season and 4goals and 4 assists in 2013/14.

Well get your head round this, the manager loves him, there is probably a reason for that, and he most likely knows more about football than you..perhaps the fans that rate him have a bit of an eye for the game too, his pace in transition is incredible I don't know why so done said he slows down play, his tracking back and work rate is second to none, he gets Ivan out of jail 10 times per game and by secondary assist they mean it doesn't go keeper hazard costa goal, there is stuff In-between when the ball comes into the final third if its not hazard it's him taking it there, he does a great deal in the build up play, unfortunately some fans see assist, goal and terry clearance....literally nothing else in the game...not enough end product..if I hear that one more time I'll dissemble, those players with end product stay up the pitch like princesses waiting to be given the ball, lose it, then wait for someone else to give it to them again....the manager hates that type of player and so should you, hazard would get 15 more goals in barca but would he be better? Mourinho has a philosophy and it seems to work pretty well

Thats one thing I really love about Willian. He rarely gives the ball away. When he has the ball I feel confident that it won't be wasted. Seems like a lot of Chelsea fans are beginning to appreciate him too.

Exactly. I think Willian is one of the best in the league when it comes to tight control and ball retention. I just wish he scored more goals, and was more selfish sometimes.

He's very good at retaining the ball in tight situations but saying he rarely gives it away isn't true, he does give it away with his passing. It's not perfect by any means and normally results in him having to chase down and win the ball back.

Sorry but you can't expect your opinion to be taken seriously when you say stuff like what we NEED is "a big name".

What we NEED is for fans to put their toys firmly back in the pram and have faith that the combination of the best manager in the world and an extremely competent board will strive to make the squad as strong as is viably possible.

If we can't afford Pogba or he's holding out for Barcelona then there's not much they can do.

If Madrid don't want to sell Varane then there's not much they can do.

If there's something to be done then it will get done! That's what they do, and that if anything is what you should have "been getting used to".

Read on twitter that today is the 1 year anniversary of Costa's signing

So yeah guess it's a bit early ?

I think next summer will be a good window to buy some star players, because I trust in the ability of FSW to mess things up for Real Madrid. Two seasons without a trophy should do wonders for our chances to buy Isco, Varane, Kroos or Bale. :)

This summer I will be happy clearing way for next and buying some good squad players :

Out: Cuadrado, Salah

Inn: Pedro and maybe Witzel.

Don't want to say I like the old days better because I like winning but I defiantly do miss the old fan mentalities when they actually got behind the team and it wasn't all about glory, I guess being a "big" club comes with Real Madrid type fans

You can't make an omlette without cracking some eggs, or as Jose would say "no homlette, no heggs".

We already have the best signing in the league. We signed him two years ago and as long as he's with us, our rivals can buy whoever they want.

Surely you mean Salah? :p
