Pedro

He's quick and has end product that's for sure, so those are some plus signs. He'll be turning 28 soon so you could say he is now in his peak years as well. I'd take him seeing as there isn't much else out there available on the wing.

people act like the EPL is this almighty league where every decent player will struggle. La liga is arguably the best league in the world and two players from the league came here last season and were in the top 3/4 scorers in the league, and the la liga can also be very physical too. if anything the EPL is overrated and i don't see any issue with a player of pedro's quality struggling here.

Most players say that the Premier League is the toughest league in the world, even if it doesn't have the most skillful players. I think i will take the opinion of the players over anyone else to be honest.

No not at all.

But it is different in a lot of respects, like weather, the atmosphere created in the grounds, the high speed of play and end to end flow. Some players fit in, some dont.

I would like to see that, I doubt Jose will do it but I agree it would work.

So then I guess you see Oscar as the other wider option with Hazard then...or is it someone else.

Never liked him, so I'm biased, but do we really need another expensive stop-gap winger?

I'd much rather us take a risk and spend the extra 20m or whatever it takes on world class (or potentially WC) players and use some of the squad places to blood our own, than shy away from the prices of these WC prospects and use the money on middling-to-good squad players who, even at their best, are nowhere near the quality of Hazard. It's not like Pedro is going to improve a lot at his age either.

Maybe no one else is available, but signing someone for the sake of signing someone is not a viable transfer strategy.

He is a top winger btw, people have obviously not watched him enough, he was one of the main players under Pep

My admittedly hazy memory is of him being the weak link in a fantastic attack - a serviceable cog in a fine-tuned machine. Although to be fair to him, it's easy to look ordinary next to some of the forwards they've had.

I think Oscar might struggle for game-time.

Maybe it will be Pedro on the right, we will see, maybe it will be Willian still, I don't think Willian's bad on the right but we could do better.

I've said this before, Iniesta played largely on the wing but he wasn't really a winger, then he went into midfield in a 433, alongside Busquets (Matic) and Xavi (Fabregas).

Willian reminds me a lot of Iniesta. He's more athletic and pacy but maybe not as adroit but they are very similar types of player, who provide the assist to the assist more than they score and assist loads of goals.

Edit: Towards the end of last season Jose played Willian in midfield at least once (can't remember the game) and I think it's something he's going to try more.

He is a great player would love him here, was a big part of one of the best football teams in european history if he was crap they wouldn't have kept him around so long would they?!

If we were going to sign a Barca player surplus to requirements then I'd rather it had been Sanchez.

Saying that, Pedro is an upgrade on Salah and Cuadrado and 21m for a player of his pedigree looks like a smart deal.

Seeing him play with Fabregas, Hazard and Costa will be interesting.

Plus he's a winger who scores goals which should take some pressure off Hazard.

I expect this means a swift end to the Chelsea career of Cuadrado.

I don't think there was much between sanchez and pedro in the years they were together at Barca. We lack goals from midfield and pedro at his best is a goal scorer.

Only question is whether he could adapt to English football as well as sanchez has.

I'd be pretty excited with this transfer. There is much else out there.

bring him, 21.5m is fair enough, liverpool want some player from real madrid (dont know his name) for 30m lol, two footed, high work ethic, intelligent and know how to score

He will be a good signing if he comes, we need an attacker who actually scores goals. I was a bit surprised we want another winger/forward type of player, with Cesc pushing further forward, and Hazard/Willian appear to be auto picks, really difficult to see Pedro play regularly. Either Curaddo or Oscar out?

Would be interesting to snatch another player from Barcelona. Remember how we used to be enemies with them and Jose is probably the biggest villain they know.

I think he'd do well here. He is their product which in it self is a quality. Cesc and Sanchez recently came from Barca and took the league by storm.

Hopefully Cuadrado is out. Rumours indicate Juve are interested, he'd fit their team well.

Looks like this is one that will drag on for a bit yet...

Chelsea's move for £22m-rated Pedro will have to wait until after the July 18 elections at Barcelona because the club's temporary board has been blocked from making any more transfer decisions
