Oh dear, semantics aren't your thing are they? My original comment was there is a 'sense' that Everton have no right to hold onto him, I wasn't claiming it as a direct quote, nor was it intended as such. That's the problem when you argue with idiots, they drag you down to their level and then win on experience.

so find me some quotes that gave you that sense then, should be easy for a highly intelligent bloke like you.

I dislike the month of August, the reason for which I won't enter into here, but I was so glad when the season was under way. However, this is the worst August since I don't know when, this swarm (good enough for Cameron to get away with, I'll also give it a go) of blue-bottles is really annoying.

Stones shmones, one player, no matter how good he may, or may not, be he is just one player.

His worth is today, no one knows what may yet pass. Lord forbid, but he may endure a career ending tackle, or some other demise like poor old Gordon Banks. I hope he has a long and healthy life, but you get the point.

Pass the fly spray please.

In their eyes he's the new Bobby Moore apparently. Still kills me how they cry that we want their asset yet when they turned over Barnsley for Stones they didn't think about such things. Then went back and raided them for another kid this summer! One rule for one...

I'd like the boy in but if it don't happen not bothered, silly money now, shows the mug mentality of the scousers

not taking 30 + mill

they will regret it , Chelsea wont

Like CFCFAN said above, it's worth emphasizing that everybody has a price. Hazard has a price, just like Ronaldo has a price, just like Craig Gardner has a price.

Whenever a manager indicates otherwise by, for example, saying that a player is "not for sale," the explicit purpose is to signal to the board that the player is integral to the team. The desired effect for Martinez is not necessarily to hold on to Stones at all costs, because even Martinez would agree that there is a price at which Stones must be sold. Rather, the desired effect is to make sure that the board has a similar view to Martinez of what exactly that price is.

Edit: There's another way of looking at this: Once Martinez indicates to the fans that he desparately wants Stones to stay, it becomes clear to those fans that any future sale of Stones must have been sanctioned by the board against the manager's will. This puts pressure on the board to extract a value that the fans deem to be justified or "worth it." Otherwise the board becomes unpopular. So by putting pressure on his own board, Martinez is doing exactly the rational thing. But this doesn't mean that Martinez thinks that Stones doesn't have a price.

He really isn't.

It depends on how you looking at him. I really rate him because he's strong, great in tackles, aggressive, he also has a good sprint stamina. Last year, Messi and Suarez humiliated him but it was only one game and people forget that he's world cup winner and everyone has bad games. I can see a great partnership with Boateng and Zouma, but it's just a dream because it would be impossible to bring him here.
