Unholy Confessions

Featured Replies

1. I don't like Celery.

2. I miss Mata, he could have been a legend. I don't disagree with Jose but

I miss the fella. Hurts me to see him ply his trade at Old Trafford.

3. I still feel betrayed by Lampard's decision to play for City, I know he and many

of our fans don't see an issue. I just can't look beyond it.

4. I miss the past players like Makelele, Gudjohnsen and Hasselbaink. They were

legends and it just isn't the same without them.

5. Being so passionate and obsessed with the team feels like one of the only ways I

still feel connected with England. I miss home a lot.....

Fabregas is a great player but he is a luxury player - like Mata.  You gain something by having him in the team but you also lose something.

He can be marked out of a game, he is weak defensively and he is slow.  He often loses the ball easily which leads to dangerous counterattacks.

I'm not saying that he he doesn't contribute, he orchestrates the game and he passes like no one else on our team.  However at the highest level, in the biggest games i feel he is lacking.  To play him he has to be covered for - which i don't feel is right unless you're a Hazard, Messi, Ronaldo.

Personally i would also like Chelsea to go back to that team that would play a high line, pressurise opponents all over the pitch and just dominate a game with immense energy.

Terry and Fabregas limit our ability to do this.

Having said this i love watching him play and the quality of football Chelsea played in the first half of the season was mostly down to him.

1) I actually quite like Robbie Savage now - he doesn't take himself seriously and is quite funny.  But I absolutely hated him when he played for Blackburn.

2)  I am often quite amused by Joey Barton too (and I must admit, occasionally I I feel he talks sense)

3) I often find that I have absolutely no clue whether we've played well or not as I am just tensely watching hoping for us to score/win.

4) I often prefer the non-footballing threads on TSE.

5)  I still am hopeless at formations and the like

Number 3 is basically how I live my life every match day....brilliant hahah! Wish I could give you 100 likes for that startling insight into my life. I will sit there so tense and nervous that I don't enjoy games until they are over or we are 15-0 up within the first 12 minutes!

In the same way, I can never understand a Chelsea fan ever saying one of our games was boring.  I am far too tense to be bored!

Oh and I have felt physically sick before a match but am usually better once it starts.  And I have been known to lie in my bed with my fingers in my ears the morning after a loss, particularly an important one, so that I don't hear it being discussed on the radio.

Haha, are we the definition of bad losers? My wife won't talk to me for a few hours after we lose as I want to wallow in my own self pity, lol. I know I am wayyyyy too emotionally involved but I'm deadly serious to people when I say Family, friends then Chelsea...that really is my order.

I never liked Didier Deschamps, I thought he was a prat and was glad he only played one season with us.

This might have been because teenage me felt he was holding back Jody Morris.

I never liked Graeme Le Saux, he did my nut in and was one of those players who could start a fight in an empty room

I never warmed to Ranieri and was glad when he went

I couldn't stand Jody Morris as a player either, quite like him now though

I feel that Mourinho can be very harsh on some players without giving them a proper chance. The likes of Schurrle, Remy, Oscar, Cuadrado, Salah will / would get subbed at half time if they are playing poor but when others are playing bad he will / would let them off. I also don't like that he publicly criticises some players but not others when they could do with a kick up the ass. Loftus-Cheek was criticised not too long ago for being a bit lazy, but the likes of Mikel has never got that kind of criticism when maybe he is somebody who could have really done with it. I just don't feel that every player is treated the same way which can be a dangerous thing to do.

I'm also starting to think that selling De Bruyne was a big mistake. I didn't mind at the time but i think he has turned into a fantastic player and would have improved us massively. He has turned into the player we hoped he would be when first signed him. He may have funded a move for Matic but i think we could have got him without selling De Bruyne.

I wouldn't change Mourinho for anyone though. I couldn't imagine any other coach in the world managing Chelsea right now. The day Mourinho leaves will be harder to take than last time i think.

I also think Ivanovic can be a bit too casual and reckless at times and i tend to get nervous when teams attack us on Ivanovic's side. I love the guy's passion and everything he has given too the club but i don't trust him in defense, sometimes he will just stand still and wait for things to happen. He really steps up in the big games though and big game players are crucial too any side.

Some really brave confessions about Mikel and Ramires in this thread. Whod've thought people didn't like them?

My Confession: Cech > Cortouis. I don't see why Matic gets heaps of praise after every game. I think he has a standard performance and everyone says he was magnificent.

1) I think selling Schürrle and marginalising Salah to the point where he's going to go as well, were both dumb moves. They both added a directness to our play that let us change our style up occasionally. Both still relatively young too.

2) Not giving De Bruyne a fair chance and then buying Cesc to fill the same role.

3) We lack depth in our squad. A couple of injuries and our season is over. Either we need some better backup or some youth players that Jose actually trusts to step up for more than 10 mins at the end of a game.

4) It's time to stop pretending that we are buying youth players for any reason other than to make a profit on them.

Kakuta, Romeu, Van Ginkel, Atsu, Cuevas, Feruz, Piazon, Wallace... the list goes on and on. None of these guys were bought to make a genuine attempt at improving our team, just to stop other teams having them before we sell them on at 24 to a 2nd tier team in Spain.

I agree with you on the most part but I think Van Ginkel was bought for the first team and is more than likely going to get there. A decent season at Stoke (which will benefit him massively physically) and he gets in ahead of the likes of Mikel and Ramires IMO

Honestly though, has there ever been a player linked/loaned/bought by us that apparently ISN'T going to be ahead of Mikel and Ramires?

Will have to see it to believe it.

Moussa Sissoko? I know this one is in a different position but Callejon, would much rather have Rami and Mikel in the squad than those 2

and then on players loaned out Romeu fits the bill but I get your point. Think thats more down to over hyping youth talent though as Mikel and Ramires would be a decent yard stick for them despite what people say they are great footballers just not quite good enough for Chelsea's first team. and tbh if any of our youth get to Mikel/ Ramires level then they have done very well and I will be very happy. If RLC or Baker gets over 300 caps for us that would be a ridiculous achievement..

1. I dont Rate Ivanovic as a Right Back defensively and I much rather have him play on the right wing instead of Cuadrado or Moses and have Willian in the No.10 role

2. I think Costa's is a warrior but technically very poor and he will struggle to match his goal tally of last season

I don't like football anymore.

I kind of agree to an extent with what you're saying. The game isn't the same, a lot of football fans are horrible and use the term banter to be twats. If you offered me the mid to late 90s back I would bite your hand off. By that I don't necessarily just mean that Chelsea team (although that is why I consider my team) but the football as a whole.

1) Ivanovic isn't even the best right back in the squad.

2) Ake is the best youth player we've had come through in a long time and we look set to ruin his development by not giving him chances and sending him out on a pointless loan. If he can't make it here then I don't have faith in anyone else being able to.

3) I also think Matic's performances tend to be overrated by many and his weaknesses get glossed over. In the few games Mikel and Matic played together, Mikel was the better player.

4) While I appreicate what he avheived here, RDM will never be a good manager.

5) Willian's recent form isn't because he's playing as a nimber 10. He pffers nothing in that position that we didn't get from him out on the wing, in fact most of the good things he does comes when he's out wide anyway so this idea that ge should replace Oscar is laughable.

1) Ramires is suited to the Championship. Awful touch and passing, just runs around a lot and has offered almost nothing since his legendary chip against Barca 3 years ago.

2) Ivan is overrated

3) I'm sure I'll confess to more later, but these are the two that spring to mind for now.

1. I am looking forward to having the footy on again, but as the years go by I find it harder to like footballers. I think they should all earn much less than they do.

2. I think the Champions league format every single year is making European football a bit boring. I don't mind if I miss us play in dead rubber rubbish group games

3. I have a season ticket for Ulster rugby...I am increasingly watching more Rugby in general and have greater respect for the players and officials.

4. I think the Stamford Bridge atmosphere has gone down hill terribly in the last ten years. Maybe the next stadium will be good for renewed energy.

5. I no longer get anywhere near as upset if we lose big games. The scars remain from previous European campaigns and in a way I am thankful for them as its easier to disconnect from it only being a game.

1. The champions league is turd and I find it increasingly difficult to care about winning it again. I often dont even watch the games and if you offered me the league every year from now until the end VS the current situation and a chance of winning it, i'd take the league. I also hate how the bridge doesnt sell booze on champions league nights.

2. Ramires and Mikel need to go. Just go away. It infuriates me to think that they are happy sitting on their arse as a bench warmer and nothing more. They have the chance to play at a high level which is something kids and adults around the world dream about, yet they would (from the outside looking in) remain content to be a squad filler.

3. I get f**king pissed off with Mourinho chopping and changing his mind about signings and acting like everything is OK. I want him to acknowledge the weaknesses in the squad, I'm not expecting him to hang players out to dry, but to come out and say that everything is fine with the squad and that every position is covered is being disingenuous to every fan who can immediately see the glaring weakness that is a lack of squad depth. A simple "yes we would like to add some quality" would put a lot of fans' minds at ease.

4. RLC could make it. But wont. Mainly due to Mourinho not trusting anyone other than his core of players which ultimately results in the squad being absolutely f**king cooked by February.

5. I f**king hate brendan rodgers. He is a total f**king c**t. I also detest that c**t Roberto Martinez and his facetious, snidey c**t mannerisms, and his ability to remain the "nice guy" of football management. Snake c**t.

6. I resent our overly cautious approach to transfers with a one in one out policy. I believe we should be adding at least one quality, proven player each season. This is how arsenal have approached their squad deficiencies over the course of the last couple of years and i think they are now ready to challenge.

7. I dont think we will win the league.

8. I think mourinho will be sacked at the end of this season.

9. I f**king hate London and want to move to San Francisco and take acid.

1. Lampard and Cech. I would never spew the kind of vitriol we've seen from some supporters, but their images will forever be tainted in my eyes. It's not something I can control and it really hurts, as I considered Lampard my favourite ever player.

2. I am sometimes seriously annoyed by the way we play. When you have Hazard, Fabregas, Willian, Matic, Oscar in your midfield and you have the keeper bunting the ball to the lone striker, who is not particularly good in the air, only to see possession turned over...arrgh. This collection of players, more than any before them, deserve to have a grounded, possession-oriented style of play.

3. I am worried that if we don't have access to a striker, by way of injury, with a high conversion rate then we will be screwed. Especially when the season wears on and with the expected over reliance on the starting xi.

4. Sometimes I lay still on the floor for days just to get a sense of what it would be like to be a slug.

Ake is a better prospect than RLC imo.

KDB should never have been sold, would rather have lost Oscar.

Salah is better than Moses and Traore and could of had a future with us in time.

Our reliance on Hazard, Cesc and Costa for goals and assists will be our downfall in Europe, maybe less so in the PL and domestic cups.

However much of a twat he is, i wish we had Neymar. Best young player in the world, but it was a massive fee Barca paid, but i think we went in for him a year earlier.

1. 99.9% of our youth will never be good enough to play for the first team.

2. Cech is still better than Courtois.

3. Mikel and Ramires are criminally underrated.

On Sunday I failed to wear my lucky boxers.

They were old, had holes in them and were thrown away at the start of the summer.

I'm dreading the season quite frankly.
