August 29, 201510 yr Seems as if even the pundits have realised that Ivanovic should be dropped. Happens in every players career unfortunately but at this point he is just a liability.
August 29, 201510 yr Interesting quote from Jose following the defeat against Palace. "I gave my club the reports of the season and projection on 24 April and don’t think now that I am going to say I want this, this and that. We have to do better, me and the players."
August 29, 201510 yr Interesting quote from Jose following the defeat against Palace. "I gave my club the reports of the season and projection on 24 April and don’t think now that I am going to say I want this, this and that. We have to do better, me and the players." That sounds like he told the Board that he had most, if not all, of what he needed going into this season. That'd make sense with his public comments about our view of the transfer market. Looks like Jose is under pressure and he needs everyone to pull the finger out and turn this around sharpish
August 29, 201510 yr Top teams have and use other options when the first choice lose form, its what keeps the players hungry. We need to drop the un-droppables. I would start the next game with a team like this. Courtois Azpi Zouma Terry Rahman Matic Loftus cheek Pedro Oscar Kenedy Falcao There are players here that will be eager to make an impression. Also this sort of line up will hopefully give some of our bolt on starters a kick up the arse.

August 29, 201510 yr I just think Jose would rather be stubborn than change to win. Sad as that is. The man wins so often that this situation doesn't come around much but now we're seeing how he is with our backs to the wall
August 29, 201510 yr There's something just not right in the locker room. There's no sign of chemistry on the field what so ever.

I would like to see Remy and Falcao sub in 2nd half. hazard should be dropped for a 1 match. Kenedy is hungry as f**k and I see him creating chances while, hard to say, Hazard is seem to run in circles. Edited August 29, 201510 yr by Michael440
August 29, 201510 yr No one should be safe, no matter if you are Hazard, if you don't perform your out. That's how it should be at Chelsea. f**k favoritism!!!!

August 29, 201510 yr Congrats to Palarse for a deserved win over the 90 minutes. They were well organised, defended bravely and looked menacing against our back four, they knew where our weakness was and they exploited it, fair play to them. At last Jose might be arriving at the conclusion that Ivan is NOT A f**kING FULL BACK, NEVER HAS BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE, how many times have I written this. He ball watches like a spectator and today he was yet again embarrassed in that position. How the hell Jose decided to swap Dave for Kennedy (he looked well lively) and not Ivan is a total mystery to me. Next problem, what is Cesc's role in this side. He is not a defensive midfielder, the only time he puts his foot in is when he puts his boots on. He has to be 30 yards further up the pitch than where he is currently operating and why does he take such sh*t free kicks all of a sudden. Stick Kennedy alongside Matic and move Cesc up the park, bin Willian he has finally lost the plot. Can't shoot, can't score and can't pass based on todays showing. Highlight for me was Falcao's goal, what a brave header that was. Kennedy was a real live wire when he came on and Loftus-Cheek put himself about. It was a decent match to watch, particularly second half.

August 29, 201510 yr I agree with most of this. I wouldnt criticise our attack too much, pedro is a really good step and i think falcao could come good! I think if stones doesnt come it wouldnt be the end of the world, i just think the only problem with our defence is ivanovic, he needs to be benched. I totally agree with your statement about pogba, our midfield is light weight, we need a partner for matic, if we dont do something about this fabregas situation before the transfer window is up we will have a problem this season and will be out of it before christmas. You might as well not have a back 4 if the opponent only attacks one of them time after time
August 29, 201510 yr To the people saying "we just need to sign Pogba": Please stop. It's embarrassing. We've spent enough money and have a brilliant squad. Maybe not quite as finished as City's, but still good enough to win the league. Will we? Even though it's only four games in, I have to say no. I can't see City losing too many. The problems are obvious to all. Too many players looking a shadow of last season, with one or two now resembling pub players. Jose has taken time to react, which is puzzling. He's an intelligent guy. I thought he would've cottoned on sooner. The loss to Spurs last year was a breaking point which caused wholesale changes in how we continued to play... So....changes in personnel to come? Changes in system? Something has to give. Edited August 29, 201510 yr by Elliott
August 29, 201510 yr People who are saying City won't lose too many games are f**king crazy. they are giving them way too much credit. Wait till Aguero is out with injury and Kompany start getting red cards or gets out of form.
August 30, 201510 yr MATCH OF THE DAY (MOTD) 29/8/15 http://www.watchonlinematch.com/match-of-the-day-motd-29815/
August 30, 201510 yr Thoroughly disappointed in our season. A very big hole we've dug for ourselves. Given the way we're playing, there is no way in hell that we will be in any position to retain our title. We look like a second rate team despite our squad being identical from last season. What's happened here?
August 30, 201510 yr 4 clucking games and the doom merchants are flying in with their 2 pennies worth! just like last season what the heck will they say if we won the EPL even if lamps scored against us?!
August 30, 201510 yr 4 clucking games and the doom merchants are flying in with their 2 pennies worth! just like last season what the heck will they say if we won the EPL even if lamps scored against us?! It isn't exactly promising though is it? I can fully understand people being frustrated and annoyed. I also respect those who are more hopeful and positive, people are different.
August 30, 201510 yr 2 losses are to the top 2. Not an excuse but we havent been playing pushovers. Edited August 30, 201510 yr by TheChelseaBlues
August 30, 201510 yr 2 losses are to the top 2. Not an excuse but we havent been playing pushovers. Palace aren't exactly Real Madrid are they.
August 30, 201510 yr At last Jose might be arriving at the conclusion that Ivan is NOT A f**kING FULL BACK, NEVER HAS BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE, how many times have I written this. He ball watches like a spectator and today he was yet again embarrassed in that position. How the hell Jose decided to swap Dave for Kennedy (he looked well lively) and not Ivan is a total mystery to me. He's not much of a wing back either in my opinion though some would say he is as effective as say Kolarov for City. Thing is his crossing is inconsistent and he hardly ever beats his man going down the wing.Worse than Bosingwa ever was in my opinion. Just because he scored a few important goals it must have gone to his head. This is not a knee-jerk reaction from me .I have always thought he was overrated(same as Ashley Cole). It really s*its me seeing ivanovic lose possession when attacking and being caught up field not having the energy or pace to get back.If he plays against Everton and has a good game that still wouldn't convince me that he should remain an untouchable, that would just be four stinkers and one good one.He needs to be dropped.
August 30, 201510 yr 2 losses are to the top 2. Not an excuse but we havent been playing pushovers. I can accept losing to Citeh, but come on, dropping points at home to Swansea and Palace is not really great is it?
August 30, 201510 yr I can accept losing to Citeh, but come on, dropping points at home to Swansea and Palace is not really great is it? It's not, but those two 'lesser' teams played well and have been giving those signs for a while. It was a combination of their hungry improvement at a time when we are experiencing a bad patch. I think the 'lesser' teams playing well will be a theme this season. We're not the only 'big' team suffering, Liverpool are currently shocking, despite big spending, but are receiving less attention than us. Last season we started on fire and quelled, let's hope this season we've started luke warm, but fire up quickly. Come on the Blues.
August 30, 201510 yr the most frustrating thing to watch is against defensively set up sides, we decide to play it around the box instead of shooting. look at man city or even arsenal at times, if they are playing against a defensive side someone (yaya toure for city, fernandiho or aguero and for arsenal ramsey, Ox or sanchez) will take a shot from outside the box and the ball ends up going in, either normally or from deflection. we also need to play wider because there was a graphic onlne of how narrow we played yesterday. we are making it easy for opposing sides by playing the narrow game instead of giving their defence trouble via wing play.
