I always prefer my full backs to be strong defensively than offensively. if they can do both then great, but if they can only master one then it should be defending. think rahman has a lot of work to do in this regards

He really impressed me with his attacking threat against Telaviv. I think he is actually a winger because he very dangerous when attacking with the ball but poor defensively.

It's refreshing to have a fullback that actually able to cross the ball, it just made attacking so much easier . Against lesser teams, he should definitely be picked. He's still young, he will get better defensively, especially with backing from Jose

Disappointing that he was dropped again. He finally showed a good performance and instead of keeping him we cutting his run. In my opinion, the only reason that Ivanovic starts is his vice-captain status.

Seems to have gotten away with very liitle stick but his defending was attrocious yesterday, his positioning was embarrassing for a so called top professional. No wonder Jose was wary about playing him.

I fnd it hard to give him stick considering he's 21 playing in a new league, but on top of that he's come in to the club at the worst time possible when everyone in the team is below par. He needs time to settle in, José can't keep switching him with azpi every week because he needs time to settle in to the first team. I do not know many wing backs at his age whom are already fantastic players; they are few and far between.

There's an argument that he shouldn't be in the first 11 at all. Defensively he's not solid at all

Not sure he ever will be first choice left back, defensively he is incredibly poor in his positioning. His attacking play though suggests he could be used as winger.

His signing magnifies our problem in bringing youth team players on the whole from the academy. We had better on the books in Bertrand but preferred to pay rather than push Ryan through the next step of development. Maybe a couple of seasons out of Europe could push academy development up the agenda.

I get worried when he has the ball at left back and is looking for a pass forward, just feels like he's always going to lose the ball.

His positioning is exactly what I feared it was. Hopefully he can improve, but I remain sceptical as he has looked exactly the same every time Ive seen him play. Left back seems like a priority again next summer

i think pep has been playing him at cm for bayern lol. but yeah, alaba would be impossible to prize away from bayern. I have no idea which other left backs are out there tbh.

okay, so seems another 20+ million wasted. I am staying optimistic he'll come good because he's still so young and there's not really any other decent left backs out there i know of.

No, he is better than that. But he has been completely mismanaged by Mourinho. It doesn't help that the whole team is playing badly. Yet he is definitely not part of the reason why we find ourselves in this position.

A lot of Africans look laid back on the field from what i've noticed. However, i haven't seen all African players lol. African people seem laid back af in general, so maybe it's just their mindset
