December 6, 201510 yr Who is that, pal? I know we have aina but he's a rb. Jay Dasilva, at one point last year Ian write (maybe not the best oppinion in the game) said he would be the best left back in the prem today. The issue is hight, he needs a growth spurt
January 13, 201610 yr Going by the title of the thread? No. He's now moaning about spending all his time on the bench. Poor lad. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jan/13/chelsea-baba-rahman-frustrated-stands
January 13, 201610 yr Ivan has been decent ever since his return from injury, I'm not sure if Baba will break into the team this season.

Poor lad. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jan/13/chelsea-baba-rahman-frustrated-stands Understandable, hes barely gotten a shot here. Wouldnt be surprised to see him angling for a move in the summer
January 13, 201610 yr He's still young so I reckon he'll be more willing to stick around (article also says he's adjusted to England well) rather than Bertrand and Luis who got fed up. But if him leaving means Ake gets into the team then I wouldn't mind..
January 13, 201610 yr Guus wants multiple options in every position, so there is no way they will let him leave without a replacement.I swear all these effing 19 year olds and newcomers to the club whinging about sitting on the bench ought to be taught a lesson. I think the club are failing massively behind the scenes in setting the expectations of these guys. The message should be, work hard and stick with us, you will achieve success. Leave, and we can't promise you anything.Clear paths to the first team sound great in theory but life can't always be a fairytale for these players and the club. Sometimes it's an injury, sometimes it's through a whole in another position. Yes I think the club have held on a little too long at times with some of the senior players struggling with form but just ask Dave and Ivan. Work hard, you will get a shot eventually and you will achieve success at this club. Edited January 13, 201610 yr by Van Butsen
January 13, 201610 yr "You have to get used to the Premier League and a big club like Chelsea first when you are a young player like I am, so the first half of the season was alright." "Of course it is frustrating for any footballer to be forced to watch from the stands. I do not want to experience that any longer."Baba RahmanI think as always it gets taken out of context especially when you consider English won't be his first language, And for me this suggests he has been happy to have a bedding in period but now feels settled and wants to fight for the first team place. January 13, 201610 yr Think he will be gone at the end of the season and we will sign a new left back. Don't even use him in games where we should win, it's a shame because we are very unbalanced at the back. Ivanovic has been great here but he's most of the reason why we are.

Don't even use him in games where we should win, it's a shame because we are very unbalanced at the back. Ivanovic has been great here but he's most of the reason why we are. That's the problem, as long as Ivanovic plays RB Chelsea will continue buying left backs to sit on the bench. Luis was perfect but never given a chance, Bertrand left and Baba will too if it keeps on going. Chelsea have a better RB playing LB.
January 13, 201610 yr Not even on the bench today, I doubt he goes in January but that is two managers not fancying him now.
January 13, 201610 yr Just can't see him getting another game this season until one of our fullbacks go down. I mean seriously, couldn't get a start in a FA cup match against low division team, it's either joke of a signing or poor management.
January 17, 201610 yr Rumours that he's going back to Augsburg. Really disappointing, we have paid 20m for him and left Felipe Luis and Bertrand for him. I can't blame him for that, he hadn't enough chances to prove himself, he deserves more playing time. He showed some good runs and good crosses, he's attacking defender and can offer us good speed in the attack. Ivanovic is our main problem in the defence, he should be dropped and we should look if Baba is really good for us. Some of his performances weren't that good, but it's acceptable, Ivanovic played most of the games and most of them were really poor. The situation with Baba is unfair in my opinion.

Back on loan or for a reduced fee?
January 17, 201610 yr Back on loan or for a reduced fee? Don't really remember, I just saw the title. Can't find the source.
January 17, 201610 yr Baba Rahman - The Heir to Filipe Baba Rahman - The latest to fail to displace brana
January 17, 201610 yr I do not understand our LB situation. It is obvious, to me at least, that we would have been much better all season with Iva on the bench and a real LB in, with Azpi at RB. We have supplied 3 PL teams with LB's (Bertrand, PvA, Ake) - I would take any of them over Baba right now. Although he hasn't been given a real chance. I guess what I'm saying is that I would take any of them (Luis too) over Iva being in the starting XI every match.

With Ivanovic being as bad as he is now, Luis would have been ideal. I love his tackling style, he wouldn't let wingers get a ball into the area as easily as Ivanovic has been doing this season.

Not to mention that Luis was pretty good going forward too. better than Ivanovic and Azpi put together. No wonder Simeone wanted him back.

Baba hasnt been great in the limited appearences but he offers something new and defensively he hasnt been any worse than Ivanovic. It seems too obvious he and Dave should be our fullbacks.
