This guy is the definition of a stopgap signing. Apparently he can play DM too so clearly a temporary move until we make another onslaught at Everton and/or Juventus for Stones and Pogba, respectively. Given who this guy's been linked with and the fact that he's only played for Senegal twice at the age of 26, let's just hope we don't see too much of him this season.

So can Aké, but Im guessing hes better of sitting on the bench at Watford practising with the likes of Ighalo, Behrami and Capoue

Douglas Costa was highly rated way before his move to Munich...he was deemed the next Ronaldinho when he was 18. This Papa guy is probably the doing of Emelano, who is doing a favor his handlers or something. Makes no sense.

Apparently he's 6 foot 4, so at least he offers some height and power. Have to see how he does before we get all miserable at missing out on Stones, but at least we saved £30+ million this window.

 

No Pogba either by the looks of it, so if we need a CM only option is to hijack the Spuds Witsel deal, wonder how well that would go down.

Why sign a stop gap player from a hyperinflated market?

How long was the offseason? A couple of months? You should be able to gather the players you need and do necessary moves. We failed this window very bad. Emenalo and Granovskaia(?) did a horrible job with JM.

You should line up 10-20 players and they should all be ones you could potentially sign. Begovic is a good coup with Pedro but CM are which was the key area was not addressed.

Most of us would be glad to be made to look like a fool if he turns out to be a great signing. I'm not Hoping for a player to be sh*t just to say I was right.
