Newcastle United vs. Chelsea (PL) 26/09/15 KO 17:30 BST

off topic but more people will see this thread than the Walsall one now

I've just read our League Cup tie at Stoke will not be televised in the UK. They're going with the Arsenal and Liverpool games - obviously in the hope of an upset or the final nail in Brendan's coffin

we should be on international channels

i'm still in fear of this one....we've been here before, they look sh*t, they play sh*t and then they somehow play like giants when we show up.

we can't even rely on Xfactor's sofa...nightmare

The team pretty much pick itself in this game. Although I believe Baba should be given a league debut in this game. If you can't play him against the worst team in the league, why bother signing him? I heard Ivanovic even struggled last night against Walsall, he maybe Newcastle's get out of jail card if he plays. For whatever reasons, we had real slow start in the corresponding games in the last 2 seasons. As I see it, if we start well and get an early goal, this game will be 'over' by HT if not earlier. They conceded 2 in 7 minutes last week, never looked like fighting back. We need to kill them off early and not giving them any belief. I think we are done for a win here, seriously!

if we don't win up there this weekend then we'll never when up there, nows the time to play them.

Hopefully this is the last season we'll have to make that journey.

convincing win, 2-0. the barcodes are f**king abysmal and we COULD, maybe, just maybe, have a team of players who now have a bit of belief after a couple of wins.

no idea what the lineup will be, but whatever team we put out it should be more than capable of hammering Newcastle.

no excuses. only a win is acceptable.

Good feeling going into this game. We are clearly concentrating on the basics and not hanging on to last seasons good feeling. Get defense sorted, make simple passes, be eager be hungry. That sort of thing. And the results have come. Newcastle is in the perfect mess for us. Still holding on to Mclaren and hoping for better. I hope this game is the last straw and he is sacked. Not wishing anyone to lose their job but he is on the edge.

If were gonna win this then we need to score 2/3 goals because ivan will no doubt be at fault for at least 1 or 2....joking aside this should nt be a problem unless the maggots turn up and play their yearly cup final against us...KTBFFH...!!

10 goals in our last 3 games with 10 different goalscorers.

We've got back into the grove a little bit over the last couple of weeks.

3-0 win would be nice just to get our goal difference back to 0!

Normally at this point id say.......Forget the Arsenal match and be very careful of Newcastle tomoz....................They and teams like them have a knack of doing something rediculous to us........BUT I WONT SAY....( erm,,,what ive just said )......We are going to slam the geordies 4 1....Mark my words....

We may miss Costa and his fight though. Only chance Newcastle have is to make this a battle, show passion. If they can do that they have a chance.

the way the season has gone, anything can happen, right

really want to see Zouma & Dave in the back 4, preferably with Cahill , no matter what I think Jose will start with Ivan, I just hope not with JT & Ivan together

they have beome a bogey team recently also that partially negates form, hope its a happier day tomorrow than usual after a trip to toon town

Depending on injuries:

Begovic

Azpilicueta

Zouma

Cahill

Ivanovic (I know, I know, but Baba looked poor against Walsall so I can see why he's not playing)

Matic

Ramires

Hazard

Oscar

Pedro

Remy

Jose's digs are top shelve easily. Knows exactly what to say, how to say it and when to say it, perfection. He seems to be getting that cockiness back that he has had over the past few seasons. Newcastle is always a challenge, for whatever reason they treat this fixture as their Champions League final, which is understandable. With Newcastle having lost a couple days ago, it could be the perfect storm for us to go to SJP and get that elusive win we have failed to capture!

UTC!

It never seems what form Newcastle is in they always play out of their minds against us. Chelsea must get the opener against them to start the home support booing and slating their own players than rallying behind them.

The problem with Falcao is that before he's kicked a ball he is already having a bad game in the eyes of many. So if he doesn't have a game which shows the way he played at Madrid/Porto then he's doomed.

I agree he had a good game, the bad points will always over shadow the good points. Like his slip for example.

As I typed this skysports made an article on his free kick last night, which goes to show what I mean. He slipped while 3 - 1 up taking a free kick in a league cup 4th round game and it makes news. It just shows how laughable and pathetic it is.

Yep. Falcao gets another vote here. His movement and anticipation is miles above Remy, and Torres for that matter.

Dig or not, it's correct.

Wenger is a joke now. Many moons ago after fluking it with Henry - he was a respected coach

Now he's just mumbling crybaby who would rather write down excuses on his notepad than tactics.
