October 30, 20169 yr What a fantastic prospect we have in our disposal. Here's hoping he can make it because he's been fantastic at Bristol City and really showing what he's capable of producing.
October 30, 20169 yr Well this is what Conte said about him last week: "Abraham is another young player who is the future for Chelsea, for sure,' Conte said, ahead of facing West Ham in the EFL Cup. 'He's very young. I saw him only one week during the pre-season in America. Then we decided to send him to play every game and get experience, then come back for us. He has great potential in the technical and physical aspects." He has everything. Work rate, desire, acceleration, finishing, strength. That is why I like him and think he will make it here and can step up as our main no.1 striker in few years time. He has the whole package. Very humble as well which I like about him.

Only thing is Michy is barely getting time at the moment and surely he will be above Abraham in the pecking order next season I would assume.

Realistically, I don't picture or even want Abraham in the team next season regardless of how much he scores this season. He will be best off playing for a better team (hopefully a loan in the prem) where he can get regular starts. He still has years ahead of him. He just turned 19. Yes, just turned 19. So I would rather him go on loan once again so he keeps on getting games. Hopefully in a few years time, he is ready to stake his claim as our no.1 striker.

Trouble is if we loan him to a prem team and doesnt make an impact, his stock will no doubt fall dramatically, like Bamford. Id rather see him go to gladbach who seem to give our players plenty of minutes. Hopefully we will be back in europe next season, so it might not hurt him to stay here next season at least until xmas, so he can work with conte, and world class players, and pick up some minutes in the cup games. Its a real lottery with these young players, at least chalobah and even moses are showing that under conte, you dont have to set the world alight out on loan, in order to come back a better player capable of competing in the 1st team.

Good point. Maybe it would be be good to see Abraham go out on loan abroad like Baker has done for past 2 seasons. If he can keep his form up, clubs from Europe will look at him for sure. However with regards to Bamford, I would have much more faith in Abraham making an impact in the prem than Bamford. He has the phsysical attributes that a striker needs. Strong, tall, fast and he has a huge desire and is getting better and better. And it depends. Like the other poster said, I don't want him here next season simply to play cup games and few minutes in league appearences etc. If Costa and Batshuayi are here his playing time will be hugely reduced. Best thing for him is to keep playing regular football.
November 2, 20169 yr So loan him until he is ready to start ahead of Costa and Bats? The kid is 19, let him finish this season and integrate him for next season so he can get familiar with our players, our system and a taste of what it's like against the big boys. Ready to step in by the time he's 21 and Diego has hit 30
November 3, 20169 yr Send him abroad for a couple of years to a real league. Chalobah said it was the experience was vital for how he is now and its worked wonders for Musonda and Christensen. If he's good enough, he'll rise to the challenge.

The only way he stays here next season unless he is promised satisfactory first team football which is unlikely, thus he will go out on loan again which will be best for all.

He plays the odd first team game for sure and competes with the other two in training. We should have a more congested fixture list next season. He'll find some game time if he's up for it, and he certainly looks up for it. Training is called that for a reason. I think it's debatable whether or not playing, or not playing much, a season in the Championship or training with the first team and getting a game here and there is better for him. Of course send him out if there's no chance he plays but Conte seems to like him and a season as our 3rd forward should still allow him to play. It would be nice to stop seeing Costa play every match Edited November 5, 20169 yr by TheChelseaBlues

Assuming we are in both UCL and PL, Costa will play majority of them. Abraham will be lucky to get starts in any of these. He has outgrown U23 football and if he stays here next season, that is where he will be playing because he will need match fitness. The best thing is football out on loan. Training is sone thing but the one thing they need is games.

Best thing for him is to keep playing regular football. Like this I'm saying IF he would get game time. If Conte wouldn't use him at all next season then, yes by all means he should be loaned out. I however don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he is left out next season. There seems to be an inclination on Conte's part to keep younger players around who have potential and may be able to contribute. Chalobah, RLC, Solanke and Aina would probably all benefit from being loaned out and playing games regularly but they've been kept for a reason I'm sure. Rashford's situation is a prime example of what can happen, who knows where he would be now if he was away last season 'gettting games' in League 1 or Holland. For one would he be any better than he is now? Would he be better off for the future? I don't have to tell you the pitfalls of continuing to loan players who are almost there out. Every young player could do with football week in and out but at some point returns diminish. Would another season of Championship football help him much more after this season? You could try to send him to a first division side somewhere but as our track record has shown, it doesn't usually work out like we have planned and finding a stable club with quality football to offer is a tricky bet. Continually loaning players out until they are ready to start and play 30 games a season is not practical. Using Tammy as an example, how could he possibly be expected to beat out Bats or Costa next season after he's been with the team for 1 or 2 months when he returns from Bristol? Just from a tactical perspective he'll be miles behind them no matter if he's been playing regularly. A situation that would just compound the more we loan him, waiting for some light to just flick on and poof he's ready to lead the line. It also creates problems for us should we have a rash of injuries, have some dead rubber time in a game or need to rotate. For example, if Chalo had been loaned this season so he can 'get games', we are minus his performances and Mikel probably makes the bench every week and fills in what Chalo has done so far. This is one reason I'm all in on swapping Griezmann for Costa, it opens up our ST position for two young players to get minutes in our first team. These loans just perpetuate themselves. Young player X goes out on loan, isn't ready to make an immediate impact when he returns so he gets loaned again and we buy a new player to strengthen that position. Repeat. At some point the players need to stay with the club to fight for places and be there when needed. Edited November 7, 20169 yr by TheChelseaBlues

December 12, 20169 yr I live down in Bristol and know a number of people who work or are closely tied within the club and I've never heard anything but positive feedback about Tammy. They've said a number of the loanees they've had from 'big' clubs over the years have seen themselves as better than the contracted players and their attitude has been poor. However Tammy is a really likeable lad and doesn't show off with flash cars & clothes etc. He trains excellently and everyone is convinced down here that we've got a serious player on our books with Tammy, can't wait to see if we can integrate him into the squad next season after what's looking like a 20 goal championship season, let's hope he doesn't end up the way Bamford has...

December 26, 20169 yr Well done Tambo, two in his last four despite Bristol City being in pretty dreadful form.
January 3, 20179 yr Another 2 goals against Reading. Now moves up to second in the Championship top scorers behind only Dwight Gayle. Edited January 3, 20179 yr by RIP Mourinho
