July 22, 20205 yr Demba Ba was very underrated actually, he was a solid backup striker. You can't judge a strikers goals on caps, you got to go by minutes, Ba had a ridiculous amount of caps because Mourinho used to bring him on in the 91st minute to chase down the game, if you look at his goals to minutes ratio it's actually really good, same with Giroud. Tammy is also still a good striker, we saw it at the start of the season (although I did get carried away with Morata after a good few months). The only issue I had with Tammy though, is that his conversion rate was not very good, he misses a lot of chances, he needs to be more clinical. Also, I wish he could stay on his feet more, goes down very easily and for a 6'4 guy he doesn't win anywhere near as many headers as he should. It's weird saying this now, because it shows how fickle everyone can be, but Giroud just looks the much better striker at the moment, his movement is so much better, has realy strikers instinct. He completely bullied Lindelof on that first goal and managed to convert a half chance (with help from bad goalkeeping of course). Whereas I don't even think Tammy would be in that position in the first place. However, I haven't written him off just yet, he can improve still.

July 22, 20205 yr i liked Ba, as said before he was decent...people here taking me saying tammy is better than Ba as an insult is just wild
July 22, 20205 yr Can't believe you are comparing these two...Ba was barely average at Chelsea IMO, past his peak. As for Tammy, @EdinburghBlue has explained it all.

For example, mine makes it look as if Tammy is at the level of Kanex Auba etc which if you watch him you can see he’s not. Your stats were designed to prove he was a similar level player to Ba, which similarly if you watched him this season you’d see he’s not. He’s not the finished product but in all honesty, none of our academy graduates are and you wouldn’t expect them to be in their first season in the PL. He did take his goal well last night and that’ll no doubt have done his confidence the world of good.
July 23, 20205 yr Season still not over yet, he can add another goal to his stats in the PL and win the cup for us against Arsenal. 15 goals in the league in his first season is something I really like. Lampard has put trust on him and he did the right thing. It's acceptable to see a player losing his form, when I look at our team and I can't find a player that was awesome all the season. We had a season with ups and downs, but it must happen, we building a new fresh and young squad, academy players who are ready to fight for this club and prove themselves. Abraham has to keep his spot next season, he has to be our future leader in the attack together with Werner, Pulisic and Ziyech. He has a lot of things to improve, but we all saw that we have a quality player to work with and improve him. He had this season to make mistakes, to learn the league, to try and show what he got. He saw the difficulties and I'm pretty sure next season when he has players on his back like Giroud who does a good job, he will have to work harder. I want to believe that we have got the player we all want to see, so it's just matter of time before he will be a giant in the league.

Nice tap in last night though, very Ba like 😆

July 23, 20205 yr 23/7/19 - Would you take 15 goals from Tammy Abraham in the league? -- %@% Yeah I would, that would be incredible 23/7/20 - Tammy Abraham isn't good enough ahhh expectations and how they change perception I'm thrilled with Tammy Abraham this season, and hope he keeps improving on his very good 19/20 season

Also 14 goals in his first PL season (and he's only 22). For example, Drogba scored 10 in his first season. Not too bad, right? It was easier for strikers to get away with low numbers back then because Frank use to bang them in from every angle!

Fair point but what I wanted to say is that 15 goals in PL for Tammy is very good, it is just that our expectations as fans can be highly unrealistic at times (which is completely normal). @Skinnedy has explained it nicely in his post above.
July 25, 20205 yr Massive shame he lost his form late into the season, if he carried on banging them in he’d certainly be top goal scorer in the league. I think we’ll learn a lot about him next season, see if he can sustain this goal scoring form he had. Fingers crossed he will

Great 1st season for Abraham though, but still needs to work on his game to be a regular starter i think.

I know, there is no reason to think that Hazard and Costa only scored 26 lol point is Tammy isn't that far behind them. It would be a mistake to loan him out.
